Start11 Issues with Large Number of Items?

Hi,

I'm using Start11 on a Windows 10 machine and have many icons and groups of icons (see image).

I find that when I start-up the computer and click the Start menu, it takes around 10 seconds for the Start menu to populate. Also, when I hide, show, or rename the title of an icon, or when I set a custom image for an icon, it locks up (but eventually comes back), and sometimes even crashes altogether.

Is this because I have so much on the Start menu?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. I don't have that many icons in my Start menu so I don't have your issue. Maybe there are icons linking to network drive or on the cloud that take some times to load. Try removing those as a test and see it that help.

I am running Windows 10 19045.2546 with Start11 ver. 1.38 in Windows 10 Style with 197 shortcuts in 10 groups, all with custom images, and have no issues with lag. I only have one folder with 32 shortcuts though, and I have renamed only a few shortcuts.

Basj suggestion about network or cloud links seems to be the most likely issue. If you don't have any of these, I'm not sure what your issue could be. Do you have any of your custom icons on OneDrive or another cloud service? All my custom icons are local on my C: drive.

I have found that if the path to a custom icon contains more than 128 characters, Start11 will not load the icon.
