That should not be an issue if you have it checked here in settings:

I have had that item checked for many years Jan, but no matter what the icon only appears if I click on the tray expander. If i move it to see it in the tray area visible on the taskbar the next time I reboot, it is gone and only showing in the expanded tray area again.

Seems you are right, Thomas (as usual :-) ). I have always had it in the expanded area, so hadn't noticed it. Even when moving it in the expanded area, it moves to the position it had before, so I guess no luck in making it stick anywhere.

Trying that control panel shortcut crash explorer & Windowblinds, so no luck for me, but I'm so used to it being hidden, I guess it doesn't matter.
