Groupy Bug - Feature Request

Hey guys, 

downloaded facebook messenger desktop app on my PC. however, i cant get it to connect with any of my groupys!? is that a facebook thing or can you make it work? 

also need two improvements

. hot key to invoke the Rename Tab on the right click menu
. move the Close all tabs on the right click menu down a few, we accidentally click that and everything closes!!
. ability to remember multiple google chrome profiles and the names of those tabbed profiles. 

Ive been asking for this for over a year! :)

can you please give groupy a little love! :)

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. I believe the Facebook messenger is using non standard title bar which causing it not group-able for Groupy.

yeah... REALLY need these feature requests. please, pun intended... BUG them :) --- at the very least, just need to have a hot key to rename a tab.. PRETTY PLEASE...

The last time Groupy was updated is early 2021! almost 2 years with zero updates!

I don't understand why they abandon such a great tool. Best Stardock's software if you ask me.

i could not agree more! ... and fences... hell roll fences and groupy in together. 
hey, also check out everything by void tools... and listary.. both free. 
but listary allows you to "folder jump" inside of save dialog boxes. such a time saver.

We are working on an update to Groupy, Windows 11 moment 2 update caused us to switch gears for a bit to update Start11 but we have certainly not abandoned groupy.

An option to remove this whole thing would be great. 

This ribbon slows down the system so much. If you don't belive me, press F11 and see file explorer flies in speed!

need a hotkey to rename a tab. I have to use the mouse for about 30 different tabs. The hotkey would be awesome. 
 
Move the "Close all windows in this tab" down farther, just not next to the "rename tab" I keep hitting it and closing like 20 tabs when I am renaming it. Put that at the bottom?
If the hotkey is more accessible, then I wouldn't hit it🙂
 
Renaming tabs within tabs?
Now that windows 11 allows us to have nested tabs; it would be great to have the same functionality inside the tabbed tab...
for example, I have two windows explorer windows open; one I've named client another client b
inside of clients a and b... I have two tabs
one tabbed explorer window named logos
another tabbed explorer window names templates.
 
It would be great to duplicate the nested tabbed windows and rename them. Make sense?  I can give you a video if you need one.
 
The ability to minimize tabbed folders. Sometimes I have photoshop and illustrator and after effects all tabbed. Be great if I could minimize all three to reclaim workspace then restore and back to work on that tabbed group.
 
With chrome... I have about 6 -8 instances of chrome profiles that i run everyday. all with different bookmarks and different emails. it would be great if i could have a group to launch all of them and have them be named.
 
... and something super powerful... if you have tried Listary... it has a great feature. Folder jumping. for example, if you have an explorer window open and then you are in MS word and want to save a document in the save dialog box, typically you have to navigate or cut and paste the path from the open explorer window... listary, and this would be a great add on for groupy, all you have to do is tap inside the explorer window then go to the save as dialog box and boom. it automagically jumps to the explorer window you just tapped on.

So Lisary is a copy of Direct Folders? or the other way around? Doesn't matter I guess, both are great!

Also, are you serious about nested tabs! that would be so confusing! Please NO!

The plus icon should open the default directory, not a duplicate bruuu!

Yes. and it does more than that, it has a the ability to press control twice to get a prompt for searching (conflicts with fences) and ability to have right click menus. but yes, direct folders is worth it weight in gold. and free :)

nested tabs for me, I have various clients with various folders some germane to the cleint some specific to many clients. i can see how you think it could be confusing, but having the that is already native in windows 11 latest builds, would be awesome. 

... and i like the duplicate, that way i can easily back into a previous folder!

 

so interesting how different we are but like the same product!

 

so... lets see what they can give us :)

Hot damn! you guys are the best... but... is there a better keyboard combination besides ctrl + shift + f1??  thats a stretch of fingers.. can we do a ctrl + alt + shift + s or z or something?? or a different option?

Totally get it... thats why i was thinking maybe a (left hand) shift ctrl alt combo plus a, s, d, z, x, c - combo? 

or a right hand shift ctrl up or down arrow? heck even if you did the left hand shift ctrl alt combo and right hand minus or plus sign... but i hear ya on that because people have different keyboard layouts..
