Sorry to hear you are having issues. This is known issue and still an issue for ObjectDesktop manager. Do you see the notification from ObjectDesktop manager? If you disable ObjectDesktop update check and just use Start11 update check does is still show you need update?

I have now disabled ObjectDesktop update check, that is where I was seeing the notification.  Will see if I see any other notifications.
