Start11 1.36 Beta Feedback Thread

With the Start11 1.36 beta release, we are creating this thread so that users can report any observed issues.

Obtaining the beta:

Object Desktop members can get the beta from within Object Desktop Manager with 'show beta downloads' enabled:

Individual purchases (as well as Object Desktop Members) can also be obtained from your account page:

https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products

Reporting an issue:

Please include the following for anything found:

  • Exact Windows version \ build (winver.exe)
  • Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen
  • Screenshots and videos are very helpful.  Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive service (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube) and link included in your post.  Images can be directly added.
  • If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions.  If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.

Thank you for your interest and any time you put into making Start11 a better product.

*MOD Note: The following post is in reference to Insider/Developer builds of Windows 11, these are not recommended for regular usage*

With the December 7 Windows 11 update (KB5021866) much of Start11 is broken. Cannot resize task bar, colors not responsive, many options not available.

It would be normal and expected if you have been upgraded to the 'new' taskbar to no longer have the options to control blur, transparency and colour on the taskbar.  This is one of the risks of using unsupported builds of Windows.  Start11 should be indicating they are not supported on your version of Windows at this time.

The issue with resizing the taskbar seems to be new but again limited to insider builds.

The new taskbar is still very much in development by Microsoft which is why we have not extended full support to it at this time.  It still may get scrapped as it did earlier in the year.

I completely understand; however, Stardock has been quick to respond to Windows upgrades with Start11 and it was only my intention to report on issues with the latest build.

Is this as intended?

Oh, I see. I saw that as meaning the opposite.  The wording is confusing, to me, at least...lol.

1.35 and 1.36 are identical bar how it reads a single registry key.

We have been totally unable to reproduce this issue.  There was an issue in the past, but it was addressed many builds ago.
