[BUG] Stuck on AI turn

Game only just begun with 2 x huge sectors, and maximum amount of enemies.

It was a really promising start for me ... gutted the game seems to have frozen mid-turn and no saves since it's a new game grrr

My last game bugged out quite far into the game too where I wasn't able to move any of my fleets, then the end turn button didnt seem to do anything.

Hope you manage to get these annoying bugs sorted Stardock!!!

This is a problem that they have been aware of for a long time.  I have sent them game saves where the they can see the problem happen when they go to the next turn.  I do not understand why they have not chosen to prioritize this problem given how it frustrates players when it happens.  I have had it happen to me twice just this week alone.

What I recommend is to hit the "Esc" key to bring up a menu, choose the "Options" button, then go to the "Gameplay" tab (screen snapshot below).  Turn on the "Auto-Save" option (third one down on the left) then set the "Turns Before Auto-Save" value to 1.  By doing this, when the game freezes, you can load the most recent auto-save and continue playing without losing too much work.  Sometimes, the game will freeze again at the same spot, but many times you will be able to get past the point where it froze.

Good luck, and keep playing - it is really a great game with many different ways to play.  Hopefully, they will decide to spend the time and money to fix all of the known and annoying bugs soon.

Thanks for the tip!  Yeah I'm really starting to get into GalCiv4 now if it wasn't for the buggy crashes and super laggy gameplay when playing with more than 2 sectors (my old PC probably doesn't help).

I just wish there were more civs!  But I guess that's where the future DLC comes in.

Hey guys - thanks for always putting in these reports and making us aware of issues! We have been hard at work on some fixes for many of these issues and hope to be pushing out some relief for them soon. v1.1 is currently on test, and as Derek mentioned we have had to do some project shifting with our developers and producers to accommodate for Sins II and other things.

We now have a dedicated producer for GC4 - Joe, who is awesome! - and should be able to start doing more in this realm soon (he only just started last week, we'll let him find his footing a bit first!).

Thanks Tatiora for keeping an eye on the forums and the feedback!  Slightly disappointed that the devs seem to have "forgotten" about Galciv4 so soon after launch but I understand it's a busy time at Stardock and it's more important to try to work on the "next big hit" for now ... Sins2.    I know that in true Stardock fashion the team will get back to Galciv4 and start improving the game immeasurably once time permits.

I just finished my first game of Galciv4 - 2 x huge sectors with all Civs ... with this galaxy size I did not experience any lag throughout the game and thankfully did not have any glitches.  The game was quite tough at first and I barely survived, but then I started slowly fighting back and dominating against the 2 x most powerful Civs in my sector ... I had thought that Galciv4 was suffering from the same issue that Galciv3 did where Civs seem to stop fighting back in the late game.

However I ended up getting totally wiped out by the Manti who were the strongest in the next sector as I had neglected to build enough ships to keep up with their military dominance ... oops!

Loving the game ... going to launch another one  :)

If the 18 included in the game aren't enough, the workshop has about 200 available to download and use.  There is a big variety in the types of civs.  They can be sorted to show the top rated ones first to make it easier to find the ones the players like the best.

I have downloaded many of them, then found some I didn't like, so I deleted them.  The workshop makes it easy.  I currently have 15 available to use along with the 18 from the game.

In case you don't know, the workshop is available here.

Whenever I play a multiplayer game with a normal sized map with a friend of mine and 3 AI's, it hang's like every 6-10 turns. These same problems were present in GalCiv 3 and it's not fixed in this game. I've paid 40 euro's for a game that is not functioning on a core feature.

Prioritise this problem now, instead of making useless patches for irrelevent stuff. Multiplayer is an essential part of the game and it really is the ONLY reason I play this game. Either fix it or give me back my money.
