Tiles 2 is losing configuration settings

My installation of Tiles 2 seems to lose certain settings every time I restart my PC.

I have it set with all five options on the Position tab ticked but every time the machine restarts it ends up with no tab for easy access and the bar is not shown on top of other windows and appears transparent.

Every time I have to open the Tiles configuration and un-check and re-check the 'Show tab' option, after which it is back to normal.

Any ideas?

Geoff

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know your Windows full version number please. Use Winver.exe to get that number. Windows 10 or 11?

Thanks

Hi Basj

Windows 10 - version 22H2 - Build 19045.2130

I had the same problem with the previous version of Windows 10 (21H2)

Please try purge and reinstall steps as mention here : [Link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account page. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.

Thank you,

Hi Basj

I tried that but unfortunately it didn't work. All it did was lose all my custom pages and shortcuts after it deleted all the registry entries for the app.

I had a backup REG file from a while ago but had to spend an hour updating it!

One possibility is that Tiles is clashing with another toolbar app that loads at start up called Ashampoo Snap 14.  As the splash screen for that appears the Tiles tab disappears, so it could be related. Tiles sits on the left of my screen and Snap on the right.

It looks like I may have to live with it as I need both apps running.
