Feedback after a few played games

What I have issue with Sin2:

1. The new moving star lanes are a PITA... can we have this as a setting in the options to turn off... I want a static map.

2. Very slow starts. Alot of time just waiting for mats to make items/upgrades to increase empire.

3. UI is too monotone. I need some color changes to icons to make them pop out and know I can click on them to do something. I also miss most all of the old screens for all my intel. Was very pita to try and find out my stats compared to other empires. Also, can every pop-up UI screen have a X to click to out of. Some you just click off screen to get back to main screen and others you're not able to do that and have to click another pop screen to change and then click off screen to get back to main.

4. I need my old research UI screen back please!!! No need to change what is great....

5. I feel to many techs are pushed down the tech tree and require too many stations. I need more to do when I have 1-3 part of the boring early game waiting for mats to make more stations to unlock useful techs. Then the opposite in late game endless mats and endless mass clicking techs because so many at the end game.

7. The new markets are so late in the game that using them is pointless.

8. Missile damage is to OP. Pretty much 4 missile ships in the back of a fleet can crush a capital ship. I have to manually control fleets and pick of them 1st. AI wants to attack the low damage ships before taking out the OP missile ships.

9. Searching planets seams to only net gems, I miss the rare planet mods, and or artifacts

10. Where are my other capital ships? Capital ships seam very weak to all other class of ships. TBH in last 15 yrs I pretty much never made many other ships other than capitals. In one game I had 3 capitals, and they were crushed by like 20 basic starting ships. I now have to build up pretty huge fleets with a combo of many small ships to kept focus off my capitals, so they make it out of a battle and then replace the smaller ships. But TBH hard to judge because I only have 2 of the like 6 types of ships and it is the TEC. I only play Vasari.

11. Pirates do not seem to work like I am used too. I miss the old pop up with like 1 min to bid up and send them out or they come after you. In 5 games from 45 mins to 4 hours of play time not once have I been attacked by the pirates.

What I like that is new:

1. random goodie huts you collect with capital ships. Very cool

2. like the trade ships are build and maintained from the trade ports.

3. I like the new way to obtain capital ships. Now just add them all back in. Why no bays on capital ships? The one option for bays state carrier only.

4. Drag and drop for research order and building ques are very nice.

5. Performance is great no issues with lag, crashes, or anything in like 5 games.

6. I like the new skill options for the capital ships. I do feel like I should be able to change them out for later options as they get unlocked. The configuration on my 1st capital ship is very different than my late game ones.

7. I like how the early warning system is tied to a research station after a tech upgrade.

8. New planet slots to add new tech options is really nice. Can add more techs for this... Very cool

9. Love not having two types of research stations to maintain. But with 1-16 needed for tech unlocks is a bit much.

#1 Even in this early state with very few options, this is already one of them

Preface, remember this is a technical preview to test the engine, nowhere close to a full release. So there are a lot of stuff missing/incomplete and they were very clear about it.

1. While i personally like the moving planets, i would like some better indication on where they are going and an estimate of how long they last, ie with color or something.

2. Agreed, very slow start considering combat is much more fast paced, will leave you doing nothing in bigger periods because ships are travelling/repairing and you are waiting for resources.

3. I feel a lot of fleet options (formations and fleet control) are missing. There is a lot of wasted space on some UI blocks. Personally i was more a fan of the sins 1 design, but i do like the new planet management view and i see what they are going for with the more "subdued" design, but i hope they are still seeing if there are ways to balance between the old and the new.

4. Research screen is still work in progress so i dunno what their plans are, i hope they have some good ones or they make it like in sins 1.

5. The biggest issue late game is that you only get 1 tech at 1 time vs sins 1 giving you 1 per category. SLOOOW.

you got no 6.

7. I don't mind them, it takes no time if you send out a few extra scout ships. And right now the issue is that you get too much crystals/metals and need to sell them for credits, despite TEC supposedly being good at credits.

8. Javelis are later in the game now too though, and you are supposed to make more PD ships. In sins 1 they were basically the second ship you mass produced via tech.

9. It only gives a chance at exotic materials yes, i expect artifacts will be added later on unless they scrapped the concept. remember the preface.

10. Remember the preface, they are likely still doing the modeling/skinning/testing on the other capitals. You could argue they could have given us the old models until the new ones are ready, though i'm not sure how the old asset would work in the new engine.

Pirate now auction of a 1 time raid that can be targeted to a planet. And they hit hard enough to actually take out the ai capital at times. I agree the process and ui for it probably needs a clarification and/or overhaul. but again, remember the preface: technical preview.

For your likes I agree with all of them.

I agree with you on pretty much everything. I honestly cant tell if the Pirates even, truly, work though.....After first hour i completely ignored Market unless i was selling Metal/buying Crystal(only 2 Arctic worlds in game).

I REALLY want the old Planet and Fleet Management back.....even the Search bar to find ships.  I had a colony ship i just could not find for most of the game....(2-3hours of 3-4hours).

I did, However, notice a few things yesterday:

1.Not all drop boxes display their entirety. It may just be me but, the far-top-right of screen doesn't display everything for me and there is extra room towards the bottom.....Only, like, 1 line/maybe 2, is missing or 'above screen'.

2.I rallied ships built to my first Capital(Akkan) and noticed that, instead of following/supporting, they would go after ANY enemy ship and leave my poor Capital defensless......my Akkan survived with 25hp......for real, just 25hp.

2.5. Where is the 'Create Fleet' option?! I think Fleet formations are important part of game, second ONLY to INCOME.

3.Credit generation is truly bad......Manually setting Trade Routes is a very nice and welcome idea though.

4. Krosov siege Frigate , Ignore enemy ships/ auto-bomb enemy world is nice.

5.Anyone else notice the 'Quarnium?' tech thing for rare gem/material thing? May be a prelude to other Capital ships needing lots of tech....12 research labs needed for repair ship is a bit much, yes?

6. AI worlds are all basically un-developed and yet they can outpace me in tech....what kind of bonus income does AI in Sins2 have?

I am still very happy about the game so far it plays very well for such an early release. I just like to provide feedback so the devs can make adjustments if they feel there is a need. Pretty much most the games I play are from Stardock!!

I agree with your thoughts.

I don’t know how to make money, but have plenty of minerals. (Opposite of SOASE 1)

Tech tree (list style) is a mess you don't see a clear research path.

Early game pirate attack is mortal, and is not clear how to “win the bid” or the process.

I know some of these things is the las of a tutorial or work in progress, but Is feedback after all.
