Hooray!

Thank you! Hopefully you'll be able to fit in the fix in AI behavior, where they take out pirates in yellow anomalies, but leave the rewards just laying there. That will help with upping the non-bonus-related difficulty a bit. Getting a little tired (and ashamed) of running around the galaxy and picking up all the unclaimed freebie ships. Hell, you can pick up so many small fighters from them, everyone gets worried about your military buildup )

Maybe add the Ascension victory because Ascensions crystals are in the game but not very useful now :)

Thanks Derek! I know Stardock has many projects and it is nice to see one of their flagship releases still being updated!

They contribute toward Prestige victory. I wonder if we need to tweak the balance on that?

I know that the super speed at which Prestige is achieved had me turn it off.

That and it's a silly way to when a game. If real life had had Prestige victory Rome would have ruled the world in 1 AD.

A little off topic and I believe you are aware of how some on Discord are feeling, however many posters on Discord feel that GC4 has been abandoned in a less than complete state and posters on Steam are wondering when the promised 4.5 update for GC3 is coming. At least one reviewer stating that his upcoming review on GC4 will not be a good one.

Good news, Derek.

When will custom civs be allowed again in MP games?

Of course, we love GalCiv. Chad, the producer on GC4, is full-time on Sins 2 now and has been incredibly busy making sure that game is great as it starts the long march toward release. But we hired Joe, a new producer, with some great industry experience to focus on GalCiv. So expect to be seeing more from him here soon (he started last week).

This is good news that can be relayed to the GC fans.

Joe welcome aboard.

I am one of your Moderators on Discord, but as a fan of TBS games who really does not care for RTS, except that Stardock succeeds with theirs, glad to have you.

I'm somehow a fan of Stardock since I discovered GalCiv 3. I'm mostly a fan because I am impressed by the fact the game is still updated years after the day it was available for the first time. So I bought GalCiv 4 twice, the first time I got a refund because I was somehow disappointed and the second time because I wanted to give a chance for improvement and never ask for a refund the second time. So Thanks Derek to be on the team. I hope you will make GC4 better :).

By the way, the new update for GC3 is still on the way ?

Is this game finished? It feels incomplete and that some features are yet to be added.

I didn't play many turns.  I just wanted to verify a few things.

Fixed an issue where battle map markers remains forever if you save/load while they exist.

I sent my probe looking for something to destroy it.  I found some pirates and left it close to them.  After it was destroyed, I played one more turn and saved the game.  I completely exited GalCiv4, restarted it and loaded the save.  After a few turns, the map marker vanished, which never happened before this fix.  I will agree with Publius on this - Hooray!

I checked this, and it works.  It is a very welcome improvement.

Updated the Onyx Hive Growth tooltip to be more accurate to where the bonus is coming from.

This is now correct.

Fixed some garbage characters in some alien first contact messages.

I couldn't find any in the English text, so I guess they are fixed for now, or I missed those that still exist. :P   The problem is that the other language has many occurences of those garbage characters.  I hope the fix for the English ones can be used for the other language.

Still getting game freezes. No rhyme or reason for them, it just crashes and I have to Alt-Tab-Del to stop the game.

Derek - Bug/Exploit - This exploit still exists (look at absurd $ amount in "Credits per Month under "You Get") - I can continue to get monthly payments even after I drive the Credits balance negative.  Gives "Peace at any cost" a whole new meaning }:)

oh right i thought the missing AI capitals was intentional, like there was a % chance i blew it away with my invasion and it was just universal atomic law that I'VE SPOILED IT FOR THIS PLANET AND CANNOT HAVE ANOTHER! lol :P

Derek - See wording in 1st slide.  Like that you added ability for planet with "Tech Capital" to produce "Aid Research".  However just in case you didn't realize, it doesn't work that way.  You can produce "Aid Research" on any planet once you build a Tech Capital.

If these posts are to answer someone else, you should quote them as I have you.

scifi1950 Your post about Aid Research being able to be researched on every planet once Tech Cap is built is "works as designed".

It is to give another choice once, you cannot "build" anything else on a world.

bradzoob, as for Civ Caps just like in the Highlander Movie "there can be only one" per Civ.

However, the overwhelming opinion of the community is you should be able to place a colony capital on the destroyed capital hex or another hex if available.

gypsy2299 - my post was in response to Kael's request for feedback.  I understand why they did it, and have been hoping they'd add research to the list.  What I was pointing out was that the action doesn't match the wording.  It clearly says you can only build the Aid Research project on the world that has the Technological Capital. Minor point, but something they might want to fix }:)

As you can see it was not clear to me, my bad there.😢

However, the point of addressing your recipient still applies.

As there are many posts covering a variety of "Bugs" precision is key, your posted text should point to the error in the text was what you were pointing out, that you did not mention it is what led to my confusion. As the Devs have loads of posts to go through (see Discord) and only a few are working on this game at this time..... 🤷‍♂️

gypsy2299 - good point about clarity.  Sometimes what is crystal clear to the sender is not so readily discernable to the reader.  Hope my edit helped. :digichet:

That is what I meant.

So many users are so used to a 144-character (or whatever the limit on Twitter is) limit that they fail to remember that to fix "bugs" the "Devil is in the details" and while being brief is good being precise and clear is better.

Kinda like me in my posts to you, mainly done so you know I am not flaming you but making an observation.
