Non-existent forum rules

Hi,

Are the forum rules listed anywhere? I posted a thing, which got "nuked", which apparently gets done without the faintest hint of a reason on the "nuked" page, nor via message/mail. Didn't even get a notification.
I've been digging, but I can't find anything. Anyone have a clue?

Stardock Corporation - Terms of Use

And rules specific to the Support Forum...posted 14 years ago.

THE 'support' forum » Forum Post by Jafo (wincustomize.com)

I did miss the 'Terms' link at the very bottom of this page, thanks. Regarding the good start & 14 year old post: I didn't post or agree to any terms on wincustomize.com. I've never even been to wincustomize.com.

That's somewhat broadly open to interpretation, especially since I posted about Stardock software and not my dog's arthritis. Regardless, neither your sentence, nor anything close to a requirement concerning relevancy of the subject matter can be found in any of those terms.

There's no shame in owning your dictatorship. Just shoot a message stating any and all provided rules are jokes for show, and you were feeling a bit grumpy.

Anyway. Would've just been a tad friendlier to be notified, in the very least.

Firstly...Stardock owns the sites in which you interact.  There are more than one however all the Forums are interlinked and thus shared between sites through relevance.

The "primary" and thus most salient is "Stardock", at the bottom of which is the link I posted:- "Terms of Use".

There are 2 'areas' within the linked forums where specific rules apply.

Anything not specific to an issue relevant to Stardock Support can and will be deleted from the Stardock Support Forums.

Anything 'Political', no matter in which forum section it is posted will be relocated to the 'Politics' Forum subsection which is only accessible via Joe User.

The first is about relevance, the second is about incitement or contention.

It is neither a dictatorship nor a joke.

I'll just reiterate the Terms of Service apply to all and to all sites and linked forums, and "Personal Attack" is specifically listed.

Sure, Stardock owns those sites. I take your word for it that they're all linked in some fashion. T&C even states: "These Terms form a legal agreement between you and Stardock Systems, Inc., including each of its subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively hereinafter "Stardock", "we" and "our")." Stardock is free to sign their legal document on behalf of any amount of drinking buddies, but it's still These Terms that I agree to. I have no business with wincustomize.com and I don't see any basis for an automatic assumption I'm even aware of their existence. Let alone the assumption that I would've read their terms. That would also mean I'm expected to read the terms of every individual StarDock game, even though I've never even looked at any.

But yes, Stardock Inc. has Terms at the bottom of this forum that I agreed to. However:

- isn't actually part of those terms. It may very well be something uttered by you - out of some form of personal preference - 14 years ago, but that doesn't make it part of anything I agreed to. One might say it's more similar to a form of government in which one person or a small group possesses absolute power without effective constitutional limitations........

Yes, 'J' specifically mentions 'personal attacks', which my post was not, nor did it have anything to do with 'Politics'. It could at most be construed as libel, which is a topic inherently about as arguable as it gets, and therefore definitely not to be decided by any one single person in the absence of any due process.

I agreed to the terms as stated in the legal documentation. I did not agree anywhere to be judged (absolute power) and silenced (without effective limitations) merely and solely based on the dislikes of one random person - sobbing in a corner over whatever topic they're throwing a hissy-fit over on that particular day. (Or 14 years ago.)

(PS: Based on 'Terms and conditions' under 'N': "Interfere with another person's use or enjoyment of the Site;", you should delete your own posts)

It's more that I have a severe allergy for unmerited authority.. Former McDonald's wholesale-buyers who take a two-week-course to receive a security badge, so they can wobble around in a mall pretending they've earned the same authority/power as actual police.. Megalomaniacs..

No abuse of SD or its Moderators will be tolerated. You're on a 24 hr. ban as of now.

Keep it up, and it will become permanent.

If you have a problem with an admin or another member, use private messaging to work it out.

No, that's not the reason for the thread deletion, that's simply a reminder that your comment "There's no shame in owning your dictatorship. Just shoot a message stating any and all provided rules are jokes for show, and you were feeling a bit grumpy."  is inappropriate and 'J' is relevant.

I am not a former McDonalds employee, I am [one of] Stardock's site administrators and one of their longest-serving.

It's not just "something uttered by you - out of some form of personal preference" It is a decision/determination passed on by Stardock's CEO via yours truly, as is the requirement to relocate contentious Political topics.

What you really need to do now is accept people have positions of Authority in Privately owned and run Forums and simply move on.

Nothing you argue is going to alter what is or is not acceptable.

Stardock's sites and forums have been active for several decades and by and large are an entirely safe and drama-free corner of the Internet considering the size of the community...;)

Agreed Jim, A little kindness really translates better. Maybe you are discouraged but to take out on the people who make this possible is a bash in the face. A little respect is really more in order.

Thanks
