Deskscape Beta 11

Disable audio

I don't use the sound of my motherboard, but rather a digital USB output, to a DAC, which also has a DAB tuner attached, and I switch between the two during the day. In Deskcapes, I've 'muted the volume', but that's not the same as disabling sound in the program. When I switch from USB audio output to the DAC, to the DAB input, the drivers for the USB output are no longer required, so uninstall, Deskscape doesn't play well with this change...and the video freezes. I have to restart Explorer, to get everything running again. Instead of 'muting' the sound, which is just not sending any signal to the sound output, can it not be disabled, so Deskscape only plays videos, hence ignoring any sound output changes?

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

First off we need a little more info from you .

Windows version ?

DeskScapes 11 is it the latest version beta5 ?

Now about a dream sound . There are very very few dreams in our gallery that have sound.

Is it one dream with sound your referring to or others ?

Since the sound is built into the dream video you can't disable it only mute it .

So what you can do is put a link here in the forum for the dream in question and if it's

a dream with an active author still on site you can ask the author if he could remake that

dream without the sound .

Now with DeskScapes11 it includes Dream Maker Pro , which allows you to make your

own dreams ( pretty easy learning curve ) and you can make your own dream without sound.

So that's an option for you to .

Now if the dream with sound and it's one of my dreams and I still can find the files for that

dream I would remake it for you .

If you want to try using Dream Maker Pro to make your own dreams and can help answer

any questions you might have about that program and how to use it .

So if you can post a link for the dream or dreams in question we can see what we can do for you .

Hello,

One other option , are you saying this option doesn't work for you ?

Right- clicking on the sound icon to open the volume mixer ?

This is one of my Star Wars dreams playing now on my PC with sound ,

so with a dream with sound you have these options to adjust the sound with Win11 and DS11 .

I don't use any Dreamscapes. I use silent videos, as my wallpaper. All videos, have no sound, which is what I want. I don't need the audio function, just the video option. I'm running Windows 11 x64 (the latest). I either listen to the radio (effectively disconnecting the DAC from the computer), or listen to audio files, I have on a large SSD. It's switch the DAC to the radio, that causes the problem

It froze up just now, so downloaded the utility (DSPurge.bat) to totally remove it, to try to reinstall. After removing the program, I restarted...but the image that was on the screen, when it froze, was still there. This makes me think, perhaps the program didn't freeze, it just closed...and left the image as a static wallpaper. So, when I restarted explorer, it began running again.

As I mentioned, the problem is when Dreamscapes starts running (with the computer start-up), If I have the DAC, switched to USB from the computer, then the driver for that USB connection gets' loaded. When I switch to the tuner, so the DAC is no longer connected to the computer (except physically), then the driver that was running, is no superfluous, and uninstalls.
