WindowBlinds 11 Testing

Hello

We soliciting here to see who might be interested in participating in WindowBlinds 11 tests in an internal Microsoft Teams environment we have set up for that effort.

Requirements:
  • Available for the next several weeks to provide frequent feedback
  • Have a PC that they do not mind testing on that may be subject to some downtime when resolving UI issues found
  • Moderate to above average PC skills
  • Able to provide exact steps to reproduce an issue and provide screenshots \ video
  • Only release versions of Windows - no insider builds, please.
If this is something you can commit to, please PM me and I'll send you the MS Teams invite.

If you have any questions, please post them here.

Thanks,

Well, I don't think I would have enough time to commit to this, but have you developed a skin for WB11 to do the testing already?

That is a future solicitation effort - getting current skins updated and the creation of a couple of new ones perhaps.

That said, everything is 'there' for the default skins that ship with WB, its just there would be a need for altering them to accommodate the different menu styles that Start11 ships with.

Well, thanks for the information then Sean. I just wouldn't have time to devote to the project.

I would love to be in on this, and have several PCs to work with, but I'm not that good at skinning and my area of computer savvy is hardware .

Could be a possible thing, does a tester need to be available for the whole of several weeks as i have a Holiday booked, it is only a StayCation, but it is out in the boonies, so Internet connections will be scatty.

I think I could do this.  I am retired and want a working WB11.  My W11 install is fairly clean.  I've never tried video capture but, I see the MS Xbox game bar can do that.

I'd love to beta test, but I have a question about this statement:

  • Have a PC that they do not mind testing on that may be subject to some downtime when resolving UI issues found

How much downtime are we talking - just that which it takes to uninstall the software and reinstall it, or are we talking having to restore from backups?

Thanks!

While the latter is not at all probable, it is possible.

So I take it this means WB11 will indeed support the other 2 Menu modes of Start11? That is some awesome news.

I like to be on the beta team I'm running win11 pro

I have been testing since the start and WB11 Alpha has been stable with the OS.  No CTD or black screens.  It's been safe here.  I did do a manual restore point before installing the first Alpha.

where can I get the alpha? I have a system image so no worries in that respect.

PM sdRohan, although I am not sure if they are looking for more or not.

Can I get a copy of WB11?

You have to be one of the testers to have a copy..

As he said above send a PM and see if they need another one.

WB11 is subject to NDA and License so no, not from me.

If you need someone to test things on 22H2 I could see what I can do :P

You can shoot me a copy..., I'll load it on Windows 11 Dev!
