So you're thieves

My Object Desktop "subscription" has apparently expired, which means I don't get access to beta releases anymore. Or at least that's the lie you told me. Turns out you mean that I lose ALL access to ALL the software I've previously purchased until I pay your ransom.

So thanks for your lies. I hope you choke on my money, and I look forward to one day feeding you some wall.

Did you download installers foe your software before your subscription expired?

Silly me, I thought my purchase would continue to exist. I trusted thieves. One year of access to BETAS and UPDATES secretly meant AND ALL OTHER ACCESS TOO!

But hey, I'm sure there's something of value at 15090 N Beck Rd, Plymouth, MI 48170 that I can take away from them.

Your purchases continue to exist, you shouldn't have any problem continuing to use your software.  At the end of the year, the software continues to run just fine.  You just don't get updates to the software you've installed.  What exactly is the issue?

My issue is that you are wrong. My purchases did NOT continue to exist. My purchase of the object dock software suite is gone. I don't want updates, I don't want betas. I want the software I purchased over a year ago. That software is gone. I no longer have the ability to re-install it in any form.

Stardock has my money, but I have no Stardock products.

Fanboys go on the list right below Stardock, in case any other dipshit wants to volunteer to tell me I shouldn't expect goods in exchange for money. You do not want to be on that list.

No, it's not a lie.  It is a fact.  When ANY Subscription ends you will no longer have access to product updates after that time.

If your Magazine subscription ends that's the last magazine you get.

But...

You will still have all those magazines you received during the time of the active subscription.

You therefore have all the programs you downloaded and installed during that subscription period in exactly the same way.

Their activation status does NOT change when the subscription ends.

Again, what exactly is the issue?

You. Are. Not. Helping.

I have been using Fences 4 for a year. I have been using Deskscapes 11 for a year. I paid for the Object Desktop Suite so that I could have these specific softwares. These are my "old issues" in your ridiculous analogy. I don't want Fences 19 or Deskcapes 34 beta or whatever new updates come out.

Now that my year long subscription to UPDATES and BETAS has ended, I can no longer install Fences 4 or Deskscapes 11 on my recently formatted system.

"You will still have all those magazines you received during the time of the active subscription." is EXACTLY what I don't have, and what you clearly agree I should have because that's what I paid for. Continually lying to my face about what I do have, when I tell you I don't is not helpful.

This is my post, telling a company that I had a business transaction with exactly what I think of their deceptive business practices. I didn't ask a single question, and you don't actually have the right to comment on my statement even though you have the ability to. Thats a behavior you learned on the internet but learned NOT to do in kindergarten. Grow up and shut your mouth.

Any further attempts by thieves at Stardock or their belligerent fans to contact me will be considered harassment. If you have something you want to say, tell it to someone who cares. This thread and my email inbox are closed. Go away.

You threw away the magazines after reading. That was not clever in any way if You wanted to read them again. Oh and Your rudeness will get You nowhere.

I never went to kindergarten.  There weren't too many of them outside of major cities in Australia in the '50s.

Again, no-one is lying "to your face" or in any other form.  If you have recently formatted your computer and thus lost any/all of your historical software downloads that is NOT Stardock's fault.  It is your own.

I expect you're simply feeling a bit silly that you didn't backup any product downloads etc prior. That's unfortunate, but can be resolved with a little common sense...;)

Couldn't you just download the installers for the versions "you paid for"? They should still activate using your key just "newer" versions won't activate with your current key.

If you no longer have the installers for those versions I'm sure you can find them or perhaps get copies from here. I don't use those programs so I doubt I have a copy however I would be willing to bet they can be easily found, reinstalled, and then activate. Whole process shouldn't take 10 minutes.

While I can understand your frustration, I don't see the need for hostilities. If you had simply came on and asked "hey where can I get a copy of blah version xyz" I bet you would have been up and running days ago. Most folks here are willing to help and many have done so for a great number of years.

Anyway, I hope you get it resolved as a suggestion from this point on store your software installers separately. make an "applications" folder on a separate drive and chuck them in there. When you need to format you can always just reinstall.
