Download not verified

[email protected]

Recently I had a drive failure. Saved another image on to boot drive from Jan 2022. Then discovered it was another internal drive.

Icon Packager was on this drive so I now have to re-install it.

Initially I had tried a re-install a week ago but it gave an error saying my system did not meet the minimum requirements.

Now since several windows updates, and my system more stable, I want to try and re-install Icon packager again.

When I downloaded packager again and the download finished, the system would verify the download.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Not sure what you mean by "not verified" but if you download direct from Startdock it should be fine. Does it give any error while installing?

Thanks

I got the installer to run but then got an error message. Does not meet the minimum requirements the box said. A big list includes Windows Vista, XP, and Windows 7. The installation then terminated. I am running Windows 10 Home 64bit. With an I7 3770 processsor. With 8Gb ram

Initially, when I purchased and installed this software there were no issues. I don't really understand why this is happening.

Thanks

Peter

What version of IconPackager?

Only IconPackager 10 can be used on Windows 10.

Version 5. It was used on Windows 10 before. Unless I have already upgraded to version 10 and forgot about it. Have the list of my purchases and it shows version 5. No mention of version 10

Version 10 would be an upgrade.

Version 5 has never been suitable for use on Windows 10 especially 64 bit versions where the uninstallation of it will break the OS badly.  This is why installation of v5 is blocked on Windows 10.

The problem is I have downloaded version 10 free trial, I cannot see any way of downloading the updated version without paying again.

I think they are trying to tell you that you would need to purchase it again as it is an upgrade for Windows 10.

I think you are missing the point here. I have been using windows 10 for many years, so I must have used Packager 10 and must have paid for the upgrade before. I do not like their attitude. I will purchase it but will never buy any more software from them

Thanks for the help, but this whole issue is due to failed drive containing the installation of Icon packager and also any proof I could have found. This drive has been disconnected and will be binned. This is the reason I need to re-install a lot of software including all my Stardock software. This is proving difficult.

I have been using windows 10 since it first became available. I had been using Icon Packager for a long time on Windows 10. Let's face it has to be version 10 otherwise I could not have used it, being as this version was the only one compatible with Windows 10.

In recent days I have found Stardock to be unhelpful. This will not be good enough for them.

I am amazed that version 10 is not on my list of software on their website.

Have you raise a support ticket? If you did, please post your ticket number so I can help push it to Support. I can't help you more than that since I don't have the authority to help deal with users accounts.

Thank you,

They directed me to forums. At the time they did not raise a ticket. I have emailed their support team to raise a ticket, but I have had no response after 2 days.

Thank you.

I will message them again

At some point, I upgraded from windows 7 to 10. 4 years ago. It is possible that up to that point I was using Packager 5.

If iconpackager 5 was installed when you upgraded you may have been using v5 as it would have been installed under Windows 7.
