Using start11 alongside startallback

As discussed in a couple other posts in this forum, start11 can't really be used in conjunction with startallback.  In my experience, startallback offers superior options for taskbar, like bringing back the full context menu, everythingtoolbar integration, seconds in the clock, dynamic taskbar transparency etc. But the win10 start menu from start11 is too good to let go. But if used together, start menu keeps flashing and the thing is unusable. Can we have compatibility with startallback so that the taskbar control can be given without this conflict? I'm aware that explorerpatcher can be used, but startallback is just better and it keeps the win11 taskbar design while bringing back usability.

Any news on this request? I am highly interested in using both Start11 v2 and StartAllBack. This seems to be the perfect solution for customization of windows 11.

I don't see start 11 and startallback playing nice together any time soon, if ever. However Start 11v2 is in active development now. If you want to request new features added to the enhanced taskbar on start 11 there is a chance it gets added that way.

As indicated by depapmere@depapmere  by making deeper changes in windows, both StartAllBack and ExplorerPatcher bring back the versatility of the taskbar, especially the ability to add toolbars as it was possible prior to windows 11. None of it has been possible with Start11, because it seemingly provides just a layer over the taskbar, which serves as an illusion to customization. There has been numerous requests for getting back the taskbar as in windows 10 days, however pretty much nothing has been done in that direction. If it sounds difficult to let other products provide those changes, which Start11 does not want to do, then how much more difficult would it be for Start11 to implement the very same changes on its own? Basically you don't like eating, but in the same time you won't accept the others to be hungry too.

Actually, with Start11 V2 now you can pin folders to taskbar which bring back the "add toolbars" functionality back to Windows 11. Have you tried it out?

ExplorerPatcher should work just fine with Start11.

With regards to StartAllIsBack, we have been looking into the issues and think we have a route to a fix to make them play nice at the cost of losing all of the Start11 taskbar features if StartAllIsBack is handling those.  One issue seems to be we have opposite ways to handle the start button clicks with the Win10 taskbar and this causes a loop.

That said it will not make 2.0 as it requires further testing but hopefully will show up in a beta of 2.x soon.

This is really great news. Will be waiting eagerly for the beta. I can not go without the NetWorx toolbar, which lets me use that free space on the taskbar to constantly monitor the network activity. To me it is worth more, than any antivirus/malware. If the addition of toolbars was a no go, I would have suggested for Start11 to implement such live network monitoring functionality in the taskbar, because this feature is extremely useful nowadays, with the solid 24 hours constant internet connections. Not being able to know, at any given moment, what is going in and out of the PC is like being blind!

Too early to be glad. Nothing from the things above gets implemented. Just promises to calm me down.

Unfortunately some other issues came up which were higher priority.

It is still on the list to further investigate as we had trouble getting it to detect the presence of SAB early enough.

There is a new man in charge! Mikhail Parakhin has taken over the Windows Team from Panos Panay, and hopefully he is going to fix the mess that Panay created.

Everyone who wants the taskbar toolbars back should go to the Feedback Hub and upvote all mentions of bringing the taskbar toolbars back.

That is the same as to hope for the Trumpster, or a fictional post Bidinski character to save America.

I stand corrected. The compatibility between Start11 and StartAllBack has been established. Thank you very, very much for this. I finally have my own computers back to the looks and functionality I expect from them. Keep up the outstanding work at Start11. You should be more vocal about it, since it is a major road stone on the way to an excellent software gem Start11. You were quite scarce in the change notes, I almost missed it, after having waited for so long. Thank you again.

I never thought I would see the day. It is pretty cool that Neil is willing to get these two programs working together.
