Uninstalling Object Desktop

I need some help. I recently installed the Object Desktop trial version. I applied my first skin and thought it was great! But just now I'm finding out that it is messing up some things and I would like to uninstall it. Unfortunately, when I uninstall the program in the control panel, it says "Could not open INSTALL.LOG file". I tried downloading it again and then uninstalling, but it still is not working. I really want the regular icons to return to their original and such.

Please help me to uninstall it. Thanks.

Icons? Do you mean as in uninstalling IconPackager and having the default MS icons restored? Don't know what else may be going on since it sounds like something else is, but regarding icons: the key to restoring the default MS icons is to first do that from within the IP program before uninstalling IconPackager. If that really isn't one of the issues you're having, sorry but all I could figure out was restoring the default icons. Maybe some one else can help regarding the message and other problems you're seeing.

I think he wants to undo the whole sheebang. He says it is messing up his computer. If you are having that much of a problem and cannot delete the program, do a system restore to the date before you installed it. I just don't know why you would not be able to uninstall it unless something didn't go in right which may be why you want to delete it to begin with. It is a wonderful program but maybe not for everyone. It takes a bit of time to get used to everything. Maybe you tried too much at once. The other thing you might try, if you aren't a computer whiz, is go into the Object Desktok folder, select all and delete them that way. Sorry you didn't like it but maybe it isn't for you. It is a very nice program once you get used to it.

I like ice cream -

To make your uninstall work, locate two files in your Object Desktop folder - Unwise.exe & INSTALL.LOG. Copy these two files to the root directory of your C:\ drive. Run Unwise.exe from there. It should work... /doghouse/

The same thing happened to me. I finally found the the "Install.log" (not the usual uninstall.log) in the "All Users" folder. The uninstall program did not know to look there. I did a Find. After finding several files called "Install.log" on my hard drive I opened each until I found the one that said Object Desktop in it.
I then copied it to the Program Folder for Object Desktop and Uninstall worked.
HOWEVER...uninstall leaves all sorts of folders, files, links and yes even mucho keys in the registry!
