Spam comments on skins

Anyone else noticing that some of the comment on skins are spam recently? Maybe it's time to add Captcha or something to the comments forms?

Tim, please send me (or Jafo) a pm with the spam links (the link to the spam comment), not the spammer's profile link, and we'll be glad to ban them.

For Moderation to ban them, we need to see the actual spam comments themselves.

Ever since comments could be put on a skin there have been spam comments.

So, since March, 2001 they have been an issue.

The way the database is set the only way to remove them is individually.

The only way to manage them properly is to contact Moderators via PM with direct links to the skin as soon as they are noticed so that the spammer can be removed quickly to prevent further spam.

At this stage the situation isn't going to change.

If you wish to help keep the site 'clean' every bit counts...;)

I do not see issues like that. I am a subscriber though so ads or spam is not an issue. Just my 2 cents.

Tim sent me links, and the spam is gone...as is the spammer.

One of the things we're here for. I wish everyone who had spam comments would just pm us with the links.

I don't think that's too much to ask.

Being a subscriber has no bearing on spam in skin comments.

I did once ask for a simple way of reporting spam (report spam button on skin comments) but all I got was a long winded lecture on how lazy I am.

Every person has his own small corner of the site. [correct English, technically not discriminatory]...;)

There are tens of thousands of uploads, each with many comments.

Some of them have always been from spammers, others have been from trolls.

All problem comments can be dealt with, but ONLY with the help of people who happen to see them.

Managing any spam on any site is always going to be a team effort...;)

And improving the site by passing on requests could help motivate the team feeling. Which is what I expected when I wrote my post. "Hey, Tim I'll let those that run the site know about this post and we'll see what we can do"
