Fences messes around with keyboard and Win+D function

Hi,

I've just purchased the latest version of Fences (4.0 I believe) and I've encountered a bug.

With the Win+D function, Fences hides all of my windows when I do not press the Windows key and I type the letter 'D' into a textbox in Windows Explorer. I haven't tested it as of yet in other applications but its happened so far a few times.

Please let me know if this issue gets fixed, for now I think I'll turn that setting off.

Thanks for a cool product ;)

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But. I don see this issue on my system and have I also don't remember other reporting it here. Anyway, we need more information on your system.

  1. Your system full Windows version numbers. Use Winver.exe to get those.
  2. Fences version numbers. Use its about page.
  3. Please post a video on this issue "With the Win+D function, Fences hides all of my windows when I do not press the Windows key and I type the letter 'D' into a textbox in Windows Explorer."

Thanks

Windows Version: Win 10, 2004, 19041.1320

Fences: 4.0.0.3

Pressing 'Check for Updates' on the about page reveals that my copy of Fences is up-to-date

Open a few windows (any with a textbox on it such as chrome's or windows explorer's search bar) and then press Win+D to hide all active windows and then select a window from the taskbar, select the textbox to type text and press 'D'. You may have to repeat these steps a few times to reproduce the issue but it seemed to happen a lot to me until I turned the feature off in the about panel.

I usually pressed that combo to hide all open windows and then I would select only the one window I needed open. Maybe it has to do with some variable in fences 4 that isn't being set or something. Strange behaviour but its my best guess.

If I get more time I'll install a screen recorder and upload a video if you're still not able to reproduce the issue.

Best Regards,

Sheen.

Hello,

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Its look like you have an older version of Windows. Any reason you not updating to latest Windows 10 version? V21H2 (OS Build 19044.1645)?

Anyway, I tried to reproduce but can't seem to get any error or strange behavior. I use the Win+D to hide all opened windows. Press taskbar button on Chrome to active Chrome. Click on the Chrome search bar. And type 'D' or 'd'. But noting strange.

Can you post your Fences Setting on Hotkeys tab

Thank you,
