Problem accessing GalCiv IV user data folder - game crashes.

Anyone else getting this error? The game crashes right after. Happened to me once before and I had to reinstall the game and reinstall it. Worked for the rest of that evening then I try to play again a couple of days later and it happens again.

There was a person on Discord yesterday who had this problem. It turned out that he had to whitelist everything in the folder that has GalCiv4.exe in it. He's using Avast for his antivirus.

In most cases this is due to a permissions or AV conflict.

In my case it was AVG antivirus, it have a feature to block access to documents in document folder, and our saves is there.

So I whitelisted GalCiv4.exe and game started

Hello folx!

For those using Avast, just whitelisting in the Firewall doesn't fix the issue. You need to go to:

"Protection> Ransomware Shield> Block or Allow App> Allow App> Select App Manually.

I spent about 30mins trying to figure this out, thought I would share.
