RESOLVED: Fences Peek not working on Windows 11

Problem

Fences Peek does not work.

Analysis

The hotkey (win+space) works fine. On toggle my taskbar turns opaque, the current window loses focus, and slightly more shadow is applied to open windows. Unfortunately fences stay in the background.

As suggested in other threads, I tried a clean install, also excluding fences from windows security, with no success.

Solution

Turn on Animation effects in Windows settings.

Fences

Thank you, AzDude, that was a valuable first step. Fences peek works when i create a local admin account.

On a side note: I experience the same behavior on my desktop as well as on my laptop (both computers configured roughly the same). Which makes me think it has to be either software I installed or windows settings I configured.

Please let me know if there is a next step I can take. In the meantime I will try around, maybe I can track down what's causing the issue.

Best Regards,
Markus

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

But the Clean Boot says you have a Third Party app causing your issue

so it might take some work on your part to track it down .

I'll try to break Fences on the fresh admin account, and report when successful. I just hope it's not in conflict with an essential app . . .

Markus

I found the issue! Thanks again for your help AzDude.

Solution

Turn on Animation effects in Windows Settings.

. . . I had mindlessly turned it off when setting up my Windows.

Markus
