Renewal in 30 days should I?

Hi,

I purchased the whole of the object desktop last year but removed it after a few months because of too many problems. I used my laptop (an LG Gram) with a resolution  of 2560 by 1440 and a second monitor (set to extend displays) at 1920/1080 . I setup my programs in their own little areas but every so often (too often to waste anymore time) the background colour of the desktop would go to black or explorer would hang needing a reboot.

I'm asking here were their bugs that have been fixed with second monitors and is it worth renewing - or will I just be wasting my time again?

Regards Lagi

Are you using Windows 10 or Windows 11?

What OD programs did you have installed?

I'm using Windows 10.

The main program I bought it for was fences - didn't really use the others - eyecandy doesn't do anything for productivity. I was going to use groupy and Tiles but because of the problems with fences I didn't bother.

If you haven't 'bothered' to use any other products within Object Desktop in the past year then the sensible answer would be 'no'.

You can purchase and use programs individually, such as Fences, however at each major version release you'd be required to repurchase...eg Fences 3 ...then Fences 4.

Object Desktop is a subscription model which maintains an annual fee to keep all included up to date permanently...;)

Looks like you've been around here long enough that you probably already know this, but just in case -

Should you decide not to renew, it is good to go to your "Downloads" page and download the installers and make a note of your registration key.  After the subscription lapses you can no longer download any software should you have a need or desire.  You can install afterwards by using those downloads and register them if you like.

From what I have seen in the comments here, is that there has been priority in getting multiple screen functioning in many apps here. In regards to Fences, I believe that there is a new release over what you are using in Fences 4 that should have improvements over your last used version.

My personal recommendation would be to download the Fences 4 free 30 day trial and see if you get into it. If you find yourself liking it, then perhaps a renewal would be worth it.

I believe he mentioned he currently have active subscription. So the OP do not need to do the 30 days trial. He should be able to download Fences 4 directly from his OD account.

As for the OP

Sorry to hear you are having issues with Fences 4. Yes, first try the Fences 4. And report back if you still see the same issue. We will try to help you resolve it.

Thanks
