I have Win10 with Intel core I5-7400 [email protected] Ghz & 16 ram, English.  I finally got the game to work a couple of days ago by using the main game files' exc. #1, the game will not launch for Epic launcher still. The version is beta .77a.277398.  I have had two crashes in about 9++ hours of current game, seemly random, not that I can tell I am doing anything to cause, like clicking before turn ends. Re-loading last save & continues goes okay.

Was having similar problems and maybe, just maybe I solved the issue for me at least. I went over an hour with no crashes which was unusual. Before any crash, my mouse suddenly slowed down so I exited. (This is Win 11) Then looking at services, I deleted (disabled) 2 Adobe services, one was an auto update check and another to check for genuine product. Not sure if services looking at 'there is an update available' interfered.   Anyway, I hope this pans out. 

it startet once, since restarting (changed the language) the game crashes directly after starting out of the epic launcher.

got a high spec ROG 703gx, 200gb nvme left, win11, last nividia driver installed.  reinstalled the game a few times, didnt work.

testet with both branches, same crash behavior.

I'm sorry to hear this. Crashes are maddening. Given that many people are playing this game without issue, I suspect you are experiencing problems that are specific to your hardware. I don't envy the developers trying to track this down.

Before the update, a small update to C++ Redistr was downloaded

made a new clean win11 install (format c) today. same crash behavior. its not the hardware!

Hopefully many of our problems disappear with all the crash fixes they put in 77b   

hmm, with the installation of the game comes a old vc redr for x64. get https://docs.microsoft.com/de-DE/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170     2015-2022 x64 vc redr. solved my problem. found the old redr just because of the fresh OS.

Yesterday evenning the Test Game Version stared for the first time since I bought it and I was able to play with out crash for 3 Hours.

Today I testet the regular game and changed the language to GERMAN but now I can't start the game any more...

Thought I solved the problem with background services in Win 11 -- played 2 1/2 hours with no problems. Played this morning and bang..another crash back to the Epic Startup Screen. No warning. So I await Stardock's genius to figure this out. I would like to see a crash log that can be read as a text file and not in gibberish so all the people can see it and look for commonalities.

One hint for everyone - if you havent done it already - try turning all graphics options to lowest settings possible (not resolution - keep that at whatever)

Are you trying to load save games from an earlier version, after the new update? If you got the game to start with the newest version, but try loading a save game from previous versions, ya it will probably crash. Not sure if that is what is causing you problems, just throwing out ideas.

Try a new game, save the new game, close to desktop, try to load the new game. Same crash? When not, does the old save now work? 

I don't know what all above is causing your crashing problems.  BUT I could not get this game to launch after beta launched. I put 2-3 posts here & others areas and got very little feedback. I fiddled and checked all I could. Then, somehow my subconscious sent me to the game files, used the exc. there, and low& behold the game launched. This is the only way I can get the to launch. The game will NOT launch from Epic, whether I use test version or regular. However, I have to make a new short cut with every patch or major update!!

Like I said, I don't know if this might help someone, but I hope.

I forgot that you can launch the game from Epic. I've always used the desktop shortcuts.
