Request feature - adjusting credits during trade

trading credit amount change when clicking increase or decrease

V0.77

Case:

  • During a trade the user can only choose to increase or decrease credits in increments of 10.
  • Most deals will be accepted for a few credits more or less, but it is tedious to have to continually click the credit number and manually adjust it to a specific value.
  • There are currently single < and > arrows which increase credits by a factor of 10.

Feature Request:

  • Change the < and > arrows to increase and decrease by a factor of 1
  • Add << and >> arrows to increase and decrease by a factor of 5
  • Add <<< and >>> arrows to increase and decrease by a factor of 10
  • The control would look something like   < <<   <<   <       credit amount box       >   >>   >>>

  • Alternatively, set the < and > to increase and decrease by a factor of 1 and add a mouse over tool-tip that prompts the user to hold SHIFT and click either < or > to change the change factor to 5, and hold CTRL to change the factor to 10.

Also need a simple way of removing the offer instead of needing to go in and reduce the value to 0. This also goes for resource trades as well.

Agreed, thanks for mentioning as I noticed this as well but forgot to mention.  A simple right click to delete the credit part of the offer would be great.

I think if you click on credits it will automatically set it to the correct amount to make the deal go through. This could be more intuitive though. The Quick Deals mod for Civ VI was revolutionary and I strongly recommend implementing something like it.

True, but you can oftentimes shave off or add a few credits and still get the deal approved and fiddling with the current controls make that tedious.

On the other hand, how about just eliminating the input for credits and let the AI set the amount that is absolutely required for the deal to be accepted.  This would make the process of including credits as part of a deal so much easier.  There really is no need for the player to input values over and over to find the 'sweet spot', just have the AI calculate the credits needed and throw it into the pot.  If the player adds or subtracts other items from the deal then the AI can update the credits needed accordingly.
