Empty Menu

Hi,

I'm using Start11 with the Windows 10 style and I have a little problem.

If I right-click the title of a menu group when I'm renaming it, the menu only shows empty lines. I can click on these lines and something happens, so they surely work but I can't see what I'm doing.

Outside the renaming mode everything works fine.

Can you help me solve the problem?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Details on your system please.

  1. Windows 10 or 11? And its version numbers. Use Winver.exe to get full windows version numbers.
  2. Start11 version? 1.1 beta?
  3. This happen to all the links or only one or few icons?

I'm using Start11 v1.01 in Windows 11 v21H2 (build SO 22000.376).

The problem only happens on all group names when I'm renaming them.

Does the issue blank menu still there after your reboot? Do you have Stardock Curtains or Windowblinds installed?

Yes, the issue is still there if I reboot, and I don't have any other product installed.

 

If I click on the second line, it cuts the text. If I click on the sixth line, it selects all the text.

So probably it's just the text modification context menu.

While waiting, would like to recommend to try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: [link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.

I just tried a Clean Boot with a new Windows Administrator account but unfortunately the problem persists.

Maybe it's something I can live with, I would just like to know for sure what that menu is prior to the purchase of the software.

If anyone could send a screenshot of the menu and its submenu, it would be of great help.

Are you using something called ExplorerPatcher or something which 'restores' the Windows 10 taskbar to Windows 11?

Don't click on the title to select it, just right click on it and you will get the correct context menu.

Good point. Yes, I'm using ExplorerPatcher. I uninstalled it and the problem disappeared so there's a conflict between the two.
I found no other problems, anyway.
