Stuck turns and crashes Ver. .70 alpha

Title: Stuck Turns and WSOD crashes

Body
Version: 0.70 alpha
Details: New game started two days ago, constantly sticking at the top of turns. Hitting the esc key and then returning to the game advances the turn but it sticks every time now. Also, planet improvements and upgrading causes the white pop up of death to appear with a system crash.
How to reproduce: Push the turn advance button. It sticks at the first alien faction moves it tries to process (altarians).

The test branch was just updated. So you want to verify your files after updating and start a new game.

Okay, so this was a new game started after the .70 alpha upgrade released before Christmas break. I had been playing version .65 and then noticed the separate download on the epic games launcher, so I installed that which installed as .70 alpha. Then, I decided to just start with a clean new game in a single galaxy universe with three opponent races in .70 alpha to make sure no artifacts or conflicts would arise from the .65 version of game saves.  How do we go about "verifying our files" as you suggest?

They just did an update to 0.70.274685 so any games started from before today (0.70.274272) are probably broken.

Again, where do I go to verify that I have the latest updates? Physically where do I go in the game to see which version i'm running and how to manually update it if need be? Because I don't see any options to do that and the only spot in the game that explains which version i'm using simply says: Version .70 alpha. The game doesn't auto-update as far as I can tell and I don't know which screen to look at and where it is in the game to see the complete version information?!?

I found it. In the Epic Game Launcher library and oddly not in game. To be fair, i've verified the downloads/patches to the latest version of the testing game and will re-start a new game and see how it behaves. Honestly, it would have saved me a little bit of grief to actually publish the latest version of the game inside the game itself.

It took me awhile to find that too.  Clicking on the ... not very intuitive.  I agree most games do show full version in game itself, but this is an Alpha, so we'll have to cut Stardock some slack  :D

It's fine as long as I know where to go to "verify" my downloads as requested. I'm going in and verifying the latest version before each game launch now. Two major updates installed yesterday on game load in the test version so it looks like that's working again. I ran into a video display issue where the left "spring out" panel in planetary upgrades wasn't extending fully so you couldn't select certain upgrades, but in the following game update it's appeared to fix that issue.
