This is a bug in Windows 11 for dark menus in explorer in some circumstances.

Hi, I notice this thing that in my opinion is annoying, actually two things.

Windows 11 style

- When creating a new page and configuring that page with all the respective programs and folders it is no longer possible to move that page to a different position if one creates multiple pages.

It would be convenient to be able to move all the pages created to the desired position at any time.

- When you click on a page and then you close the start and then you open the start again you will find the last page opened and not the first (the main one)

It would be convenient for it to return to the main page when the start is closed and not that the last page opened remains memorized.

Still talking about the Windows 11 style start

has not introduced the arrangement of the keys Shut down, Restart, Suspend computer?

there are no related icons to the keys and the position is not correct as the official Windows 11 start

On Win10 style, when right-clicking a pinned PWA (Edge) or Store app and clicking Uninstall, the tile does not go away. Clicking on it causes an error message saying the application cannot be found.

little white dot, why?another little white dot in a menu.... assume we can blame Win 11 for this - but maybe Start 11 could "fix" it?

Every single dark menu shown will be showing that I am afraid, at least from within explorer.

We may move those menus over to our own style which we use for right clicks on groups etc which would side step the issue.

No change.

No change to what exactly?

It would be a neat sales hook to be able to show how Stardock "fixed" Microsoft's problem here - please consider doing it!

First, let me say that Start11 is pretty great! :) I just have a quick question for someone -

I am currently using the "Modern Style" start menu. Is there a way to get newly installed programs from NOT being highlighted automatically in the All Programs list?

I see the option to not add them for the Windows 10/11 menus, but do not see the option for Windows 7 or the Modern Style menus on 1.0 or 1.1... Am I just missing it or is it not an option yet?

Thanks in advance!

I haven't tried the beta yet. There is a bug I've just come across in 1.0 on Windows 10. I don't see it on the fix list. Perhaps someone can try and reproduce it with the beta.

Set the menu to Modern Style, without icon.

Close the Start11 settings. Then go back to the settings. The above field 'Start menu theme' will be reset to just Modern theme, instead of Modern theme without icon. The Start menu actually changes as well adding the user icon, it's not just the setting field.

Expected behavior, it should stay on the without icon option if that was previously set.

Is there a reason you have not?

I got the 1.01 beta in hopes there would be an option to display the taskbar clock on multiple monitors.  I don't see it, unfortunately.  Any plans for that?

Also, FWIW, I noticed immediately the Large taskbar icons are blurry, like smaller images are being used, and scaled up:

Don't worry, Microsoft has added back the taskbar clock on multiple monitors on the latest Dev build.

It seems strange to say Microsoft and making changes to the taskbar or start menu in the same sentence. I always thought people were supposed to contact startdock if they wanted changes to those two things \o/  . They also are bringing the ability to get rid of half the recommendation's in their start menu. I don't see this stopping start 11's momentum, as it comes across too little too late, but at least it shows that everyone was serious when they were listing complaints about the start menu and task bar of windows 11. I am curious how high of a percentage that Windows 11 users are using start 11 or other third party start menu's. It must be pretty high if Microsoft is actually changing those two things a little.

About to go back to the non BETA version. Whenever I click on the windows key which I have set to open the Windows 11 menu it refuses to let me click on the icons and auto closes after a few seconds. This Beta is more problematic.

After uninstalling the latest beta release of start11 through revo uninstaller I had issues with the windows 11 start menu not working properly. It would not open properly or allow me to select any icons before auto closing. This was in conjunction with several added start menu icons that I did not add. I followed through most of the steps on this link.

How to Fix 'Windows 11 Start Menu Not Working' Issue? (nerdschalk.com)

I discovered the root of the issue was all the added links in the win 11 start menu were somehow corrupting it. The solution was to boot into safe mode and once there was able to properly open the start menu and delete all the unwanted links. Afterwards the windows 11 start menu worked properly. Then I reinstalled start11 with no adverse effects for both it and the windows 11 start menu. I still have the same start11 bug that cuts the window in half when you click on the power icon when the taskbar is aligned at the top of the screen. Until that issue is resolved I'll keep my taskbar at the bottom of the screen.

Shortcuts/Links in my Start Menu folder are not found when searching via Start11, however they are listed when navigating through "All Programs"

Example: "%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\MyCoolScript\My Script.lnk"    -->    "C:\Utilities\script.ahk2"

Searching: "My Script" in Start11 yields no results.

In Windows you can Ctrl+Shift and double-click or press Enter, and this is equivalent to right clicking the application and running it as an administrator. This is partially working in Start11. It works on the pinned/favorites list. However, if you try using this on an application from search results - it doesn't work and just opens normally.

Automatically hide taskbar is still broken.  Try running a game, or using wallpaper engine in the background to reproduce.

Are you sure that isn't the case without Start11 too?

Auto hide taskbar isn't something Start11 implements, thats a Microsoft feature.

You're absolutely right.  I uninstalled Start11 and tried again, and Windows 11 still freaks out.  Thanks for listening.
