If your talking about Win11 Weather app , try reboot and enter info again .

This is in the ObjectDesktop forum.  To my knowledge, there is no weather gadget/widget that works anymore.  Not if it is a Stardock product.  The feeds have to be paid for by someone.

Yes there is a weather icon on the object dock and it worked yesterday before I had to redownload win 11, and therefore reinstall object dock.  It uses accuweather and it pops up to ask for my location to work, but when I add location and enter I continue to get an error message that the service can't be reached and to try again when I'm connected to the internet, which is ridiculous since I AM connected to the internet.

I'll bet it's an issue with Windows 11.  It will have problems.  Windows 10 still has problems ...;)

Oh crap.  Weather works on ObjectDock?  I have been lied to!!!!  Cool.

It isn't working here either. I didn't think it was.

You can log into your account and hit MyDownloads and redownload it.

Been there, done that, twice.   Need a new, clean download without having to pay again.

If you already purchase it you should be able to download it from your account here : https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products

As I just stated, I have done that 3 times already with the same result.  Leaving me to suspect the file is corrupted Hence my request for a CLEAN download link.  Try again.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

The links supplied are good , but Object Dock is Not supported for Windows10 and 11

so there will be issues for some of the included apps.

I have tested this and the Weather did not work for me on Win10 or now Win11.

There is nothing wrong with the downloaded file, except it's not compatible for installing under Windows 10 & 11. For that, you will need to enable the built in administrator account. Look here how to enable it for Windows 11 if you don't know already: Link

But be warned, you will not get the weather app to function.

Ok, I don't know what the problem is but it worked up until yesterday in my Win 10, then win 11.  Now I had to reinstall Win 11, and NONE of it works.  Your links to download, including the purge, do not work, but apparently contain danger.   I am disgusted that this is all you can provide.

So.... you're disgusted that we try to help you make a piece of software work in Windows 11 that is not supported for that operating system or Windows 10 for that matter. And the links work. That you get a false positive from security software on your end about "containing danger", can hardly be blamed on Stardock.

I installed on 10 and 11 with just my normal account. No admin rights needed. But the weather doesn't work.

Is it possible you had downloaded and installed a separate weather docklet for it at some point?  I've forgotten almost everything I knew about Object Dock, but I do remember there were some docklets out there that did various things.  Just a thought in case it might jog your memory.

I get this. Never used the 2.0 version but I have it (free version) and it installs ok.

And for the record, weather docklet does not work on any of them.

Object Dock does NOT officially work for Windows 10 OR Windows 11.

Many years ago the Companies supplying the Weather data started charging for the service at Commercial levels at a price point that would have seen no-one wanting to buy Object Dock at the price level that would have Stardock come close to breaking even.

If you actually are in a situation when a download IS corrupted [here or anywhere else on the net] you will need to shut down the browser...clear cache and reboot, or else you simply get the same error repeated.

Bottom line is...you NEED to ask yourself 'do I really need to use Windows 11?'

The answer genuinely in almost EVERY circumstance is 'NO'.

Ah, yeah. I didn't even try 1.90. Seems I do remember that issue.  Moot point, since it isn't supported on either OS.  I was just wanting to verify that the weather did not function.

No working weather docklet for many years now, mate. That is something you have to find another way to get. However, both Win10 and 11 have some sort of weather widget in the taskbar, not very good, but there if you want it. It only works, I think, if you log you account in with M$ and not on your local machine. It isn't a patch on Objeck Dock's weather docklet, I really miss it, but it is either that or you get Accuweather's own widget for your desktop, but, and don't quote me, I think it is a pay version only.

For free weather on your desktop, I think Rainmeter is a great alternative. Adni18 has made a lot of great weather gadgets and lots more. Have a look at his Rainmeter gallery here : adni18.com
