Start 11 Menu floating above start button

I have Start 11 v1.0 installed on Windows 11 21H2 22000.282 and have noticed that when I use remote desktop connection from another machine or to another machine from the computer with Start 11 installed when i disconnect remote desktop the Start 11 menu hovers an inch or so above the start button on the screen.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Does the issue goes away if you do the Explorer.exe restart?

Yes, restarting Windows Explorer resets Start 11 back to normal operation.

Does the issue happen every time after you using remote desktop?

Thank you,

On the PC you remoted into or the PC you used to remote into another?

Start 11 is on the PC that I remote into. However I have seen the behavior as well when I’ve remoted into another PC from the one with Start 11 installed.

I am going to ignore that for a moment...

I suspect that it's when you actually go to the other PC at a later time that you see this, yes?  I also surmise that there is a notable resolution difference between the two PCs (the host and the remote), correct?

If the latter is true, that is very likely the reason.

Yes, I generally remote in from a laptop with 1080p resolution to a desktop with 1440 resolution.

RDP can cause funky issues in that regard that extends to many more apps than just Start11.

I previously was using Start 10 and never had this issue before even with remoting into the same machine from my laptop.

If it's Windows 11, it's not exactly 'the same' as Start10 was never compatible with Windows 11.

That said, I will run it by the devs.

Thanks for the report.

I was wondering if this issue has been looked into at all? It is still occurring with v1.1. Also, i have noticed it happening any time there is a screen resize (launching certain games, etc) not just remoting in from a machine with a lower resolution.

I previously floated the idea of having the resizing locked with the lock menu.. Would that also resolve the floating issue. I have noticed that constant resizing also can generate the floating start menu.

I feel like this issue is being ignored. I can't be the only one having it. As i mentioned previously, it's not just happening with remote desktop sessions it occurs any time there is a screen resize. I really like this product but the fact that this has been an issue since launch is disappointing.
