Fences 4 Beta 1 Issue Report Thread

With the Fences 4 beta release today, we are creating this thread so that users can report any observed issues.  

Obtaining the beta:

Object Desktop members can get the beta from within Object Desktop Manager with 'show beta downloads' enabled:

Individual purchases (as well as Object Desktop Members) can also be obtained from your account page:

Reporting an issue:

Please include the following for anything found:

  • Exact Windows version \ build (winver.exe)
  • Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen
  • Screenshots and videos are very helpful.  Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive services (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube) and link included in your post.  Images can be directly added.
  • If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions.  If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.

Thank you for your interest and any time you put into making Fences 4 a better product.

Win+Space key seems to not work properly. Every time I unlock my desktop the space key won't perform it's normal function until I press Win+Space one time.(Windows 11 21H2 - OS Build 22000.346)

I also have two Fences that, for unknown reasons, won't align with the other Fences and seem to have a title that does some kind of shrug when you hover the mouse over the Fence. When the "shrug" happens, the Fence is properly aligned at the top with the Fences on either side, but when my mouse is not over the Fence, the title sits 5-10 pixels below the ones to either side. Minor, but annoying.

Oh, I also second the request to remove the feature that moves Fence titles to the bottom of the Fence when near the top of the screen. Or if not remove it, make it so it's something we can toggle off.

No, that's how beta release numbering is done.  A Beta of a version 4 is a pre-4 release...so has a pre-4 number.

Only when a program is declared 'gold' does it get a full product version number.

Fences 4, when out of beta will show as 'Version 4.0' [or equivalent]...;)

Similar issues to Loeffelmaster & Compusmurf, Peek is happening when just pressing Space (no Win key held down). Seems quite random when it happens but I can clear it by pressing Win key on it's own a few times, haven't needed to reboot or anything.

Same error here. I just installed Fences the first time and I wanted to restore the first-use automatic fences. Instead it crashed with this error. I'm also on Windows 10, 21H1

I've upgraded from fences 3 to 4 beta. I'm a light user so everything's great.

One thing I've spotted is my background images go black and then return. They aren't changing to new images. They just go and then back. 

I have two monitors, 1 2k and the other FullHD. The only change I've made is updating fences.
