Start 11 RC 2 Wish list.

Start menu having the same transparency as the task bar. (Right now it's blur)

Options to change the Fonts also perhaps bold and italics options also.

I like it so far I've only been using it a few minutes but I'm not having any issues yet I'll report them to the proper place.

Great Job to all involved.

Also, ¿Can you put Titles Grouping and the option to collapse the app menu,  like windows 10 Star Menu?

I also would like having the same transparency as the task bar.  I've always loved the aero glass look that was in Windows 7.

What do you mean by this specifically?  Both the menu and taskbar use blur and you can adjust the transparency of both to suit your needs.

What do you mean by Titles grouping exactly?

I would really love to be able to put the taskbar verticle, on the side as I can with Windows 10. The screen is landscape mode but most docs and websites are portrait mode so there is extra space on the side, not on the top or bottom.

Not for me I have the task bar transparency almost crystal clear and the start menu is not clear it is blur.

I would post a pic but I can't do it for my cell phone. There's no way to drag and drop with Android and the button to search my device does nothing with two different web browser.

This is what we are saying. The task bar is transparent no blur and the start menu has blur with no option to disable blur.

Hope this helps

In Start11, add the option to enable and disable the display of seconds in the clock in the tray! It really takes seconds.

Exactly.  We would like to disable blur in the start menu also so we can adjust the transparency to be like aero glass.

The RC2 version is 0.91.

What issues are you having with it?

Ah ok sorry, didn't know RC2 meant 0.91.
Don't get me wrong, this app is not a pile of shit, it's actually good and very useful, but what doesn't work is really annoying to me.

1. Can't find anywhere where to change the tiles background colour (Windows 10 Style) in options. That light grey colour is killing me.
2. Can't put Tile Groups wherever I want. If there are 2 groups in the 1st column and 3 in the 2nd Column for example, I can't put a 3rd Group on the 2nd column, it has to go either on the 1st column or the third. In Windows 10, we could put groups wherever we wanted.
3. Start11 interferes with DisplayFusion (which creates custom taskbars on all monitors exempt the primary one). Their taskbars are transparent if Start11 is installed, even if I set Start11 taskbar to be solid (100%).
4. The alinement of the Tiles App names is Left, but the App icons are centered!! Which means if the app name is short, it looks super weird
5. Unless I'm mistaken (sorry if I am), there's no way to save all settings (including tiles) if I uninstall the app. A real pain.

Thnx

1) Right click on the tile.  You can pick the colour.

2) This is true, the grid auto aligns itself filling in gaps.  I will see if we can make it more flexible

3) We shouldn't be having any impact on them

4) This is normal and is identical to Windows 10 original menu.  Text is always aligned left and icons are centred.

5) Settings are saved unless you ask them to be deleted when you uninstall or run a purge.  So you can uninstall and your groups should remain waiting for you to reinstall Start11.

Thanks. I forgot to mention something please:

I have Ubisoft games installed on my PC. The desktop shortcuts are internet links (eg "uplay://launch/3539/0").
I can add them to Start 11 Tiles, but the icon doesn't show up. Any workaround please? (it worked in Windows 10)

Another suggestion instead of having a on off switch for Blur have a slider like you do with the transparency. That way you can adjust level of Blur to your own style

Blur is a binary choice I am afraid.

Thanks I could probably do it through a texture. I'm really hoping to be able to disable blur in the start menu with one of the updates. That way I can make it a true transparency like we can do with the taskbar.

We mean the start menu NOT the taskbar.

Couple of suggestions for the W11 style menu.

- Allow the pinned items to be moved freely, as in no auto-arrange. What I mean is that they could be placed anywhere on the 'grid', even if that leaves an empty 'cell' in between. For example, to make this possible:

- The Recent documents section. It lists documents and folders. Please add an option to just list documents! By default I get 9 items there. While 12 would fit without stretching the menu. Maybe add an option to control amount of items shown?

Hello !

I have some suggestions about "Windows 10 Style" who is nearly perfect :

  • - Of course, an option to group pinned apps together (like Windows 10) would be greatly appreciated,
  • "Pages" is a very good approach. I love it ! Would love much more if we could navigate throught them with mouse scroll !
  • A bit of design : Ability to select icons backgound color more precisely and  / or transparent with, why not, some rounded borders. Also, for this one, it would be nice if we could raise the size of icons inside their squares.
  • About icons, ability to preselect a default background color for new pinned app, or select a color for a whole group / page... etc...
  • Put the ability to hide the "All app list" like Windows 10. I found an option in style settings : "show app list in start menu" but it's greyed and activated. Maybe i missed something ? or it is for an other release ? (if someone has a clue),

  • Finally, i would love to have the ability to move a single icon to an other page.

Some bugs with Windows 10 Style :

  • Using "Pin to Start11" on a shortcut in a folder it pin the app in some different folders on some different pages... a bit messy and no logic.

Excepting that, this is the perfect dreamed Start menu replacement since Gro$oft remove my beloved start menu I took so much time to organize ^^

So thanks to you, I believe in humanity again ! lol ! Thanks for all your time, i gladly paid Start11.

Easy ! i did the same for my Steam games.

Just copy your shortcuts to this location :

C:\Users\<YOUR USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\

Now, you can find it in "all program" and you'd be able to pin it.
