Multiplayer Crashes

Dear Support,

I've bought the steam version of galciv3 specifically for multiplayer with my wife. I'm sad to say that after a certain point we can't continue our games because one of the clients will crash. As in: She's hosting, waiting in the lobby for me and when I try to join one of our clients crashes. Mostly mine. We play without any mods. We tried turning off windows defender firewall. Maybe its noteworthy that loading did take quite a while before even though we both have pc setups way above the recommended specs.

Thanks in advance for helping us here, we need a 4x  game to play these days more than ever and the AI is just too bad in any other :/

Edit: This doesn't happen at the beginning of each game although we had some crash issues there aswell.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

Whatever client is crashing, a crash reporter window should be popping where you can submit it with some context.  I don't show any submissions under the email address associated with the forum account you are posting under.

PM me the email address being used, please.

Hey, I send you a pm.  Where is that crash reporter window supposed to pop up?

Edit: what do you mean by "submissions". The e-mail being used here is the one associated with my steam account I play the game with. Am I missing something here?

Edit1: Was I supposed to make some kind of submission via steam? I don't know the process tbh since I don't really play that many games since quite some time.

Edit2: Ok, it's about that debug.err file. Unfortunately I deleted that whole my games/galciv3crusade subfolder in an attempt to force the game to create a new one. We started a new game yesterday and loading saves in multiplayer is already quite slow so when it crashes I will post the crash report in here.

Me and my brother have had a similar issue. We have played multiple sessions in huge galaxy map fine. Then one day it started crashing while I was loading into the lobby. It doesn't make a difference who hosts the game will always crash when one of us joins the lobby.

We tried going back to an older save that we had and it worked, after that session we saved it again and when we started it back up it crashed again in exactly the same way, no matter who hosts it always crashes while trying to load in.

The save works fine if I start it myself without anyone joining the lobby. Its only the one who tries to join that crashes.

If the game crashes, it would be a very obvious window that pops asking you for a submission.  If its not for you, please check to ensure you did not stop it from showing:
