when I go to pla the game on steam, I get the loader, but the play button is greyed out
I have the same problem i try to repair it by steam and still nothing...
Sorry to hear you are having trouble.
Please try the following
In:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Control - Origins\Game
create a 'Temp' folder
Copy into it:
--StarControl_DX11.exe
--StardockLauncher.exe
Go back to the install dir and:
--Rename StardockLauncher.exe to StardockLauncher.OLD
--Rename: StarControl_DX11.exe to StardockLauncher.exe
Try to run the game from the play button in Steam.
