ChristmasTime Theme - on Windows 10

A WindowsBlinds user from long ago with a question

Hello!

I haven't used WindowsBlinds in a number of years, so I have a question on the Stardock Forum I read recently which revisited the ChristmasTime Theme from Windows XP.

Revisiting a Christmas Skinning Classic....ChristmasTime ยป Forum Post by Island Dog (stardock.com)

From what I read, the author used this theme on Windows 10.  Would I just need to download WindowsBlinds, download the theme, and then apply the theme? Does anyone know if there are any extra steps, given that this theme was originally made for Windows XP? I noticed the XP-looking start menu. Will the theme automatically convert the Win 10 start menu to look like that, or do I need another patch or program to do this?

I used to love this theme and would love to have it back.

Thanks!  I know it is only September, but I want this theme ready for when Christmas arrives.

Cheers!

Hello,

Just tested that theme, it seem to working for my Windows 10 setup. There are few area where the skin is off due to Windows 10 changed. But, it still function normally. You just need Windowblinds and Start10, as it should load fine.

Thanks

One last question. You mentioned that WindowBlinds and Start10 are both required to use the theme. Am I correct in assuming that I cannot substitute Start10 for Classic Shell? I ask simply because I currently have Classic Shell installed on my computer.  Do I need to switch that for Start10 or will either one do the trick?

Classic Shell won't apply the WindowBlinds start menu or taskbar theme.

Start menu, yes, task bar, no. Taskbar does not look good at all.

My taskbar looks about the same. I mean, it could be worse. The start menu looks good. My calendar also just shows up like the standard calendar, but I will take what I can get :)

Sorry to be a noob here, but what program are you using to change the theme? I cannot find these options in Windowblinds.

Thanks!

That is a quite older version of SkinStudio being used by the looks of it.

You will need to download the editor for Windowblinds, Skinstudio.

Thanks for the updated images. I will take a look at playing around with a copy of the theme later on.  Though considering I am running a theme made for Windows XP on Windows 10 about 13 years after I first had it... I am decently impressed with how well it does work. The Candy Cane borders on the taskbar are gone, the start button is a little small, and the calendar doesn't change, but overall, it is not bad.  Fun fact: if I hover my mouse over the minimize, close buttons on the top right corner of windows, the snow falls.
