Illogical rectangle sizes in treemap

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the whole point of the treemap display was that the rectangles representing the folders were proportionally sized, so the more disk space a folder users, the larger it would be in the treemap.

However, I'm seeing results like this when trying to work out where all my space has gone on my games drive:

Notice that the top-left item, Roberts Space Industries, is 66.8 GB, yet its rectangle is about the same size as the 2.2GB Silent Storm below it (which uses 1/30th of the disk space), and not much bigger than the 414MB Bomberman to its right, despite being 150 times bigger in terms of disk space.

Have I completely misunderstood the point of the treemap? In which case, what is it?

Or is this a bug?

Is there any update on this?

I'm aware that it may be just me not understanding how the treemap is supposed to work, in which case I'd appreciate someone explaining to me how it's helpful in finding large files.

The alternative is that this is a bug, in which case it's a pretty big bug which I would have thought you'd be keen to address, as it  makes the treemap effectively useless for finding big files.

So it's now been nearly 2 months...

My original post was just asking; is this a bug, or am I reading it wrong, to which I've still not had a response.

I'm assuming, therefore, that it's a bug? If so it seems to be a fairly fundamental bug in a program that's designed to show you where your disk space is going.

It would be nice to be told either "Yes it's a bug - we're working on it. Give us about X months." or "No it's not a bug, because ....".  Can't say I'm overly impressed with the support at this stage.

It's now a quarter of a year since I asked about what I was seeing in SpaceMonger and I still haven't had a response. Can anyone shed any light please? I've paid good money for this product which doesn't seem to be working correctly and all I get back when asking a simple question is silence.

I have been, for 3 months already. Hasn't helped yet... Not even a confirmation that it's a bug.
