My opinion : it's a crappy game !

Offworld sabotage simulator !

I am a great fan of Stardock and I have bought Stardock games and products since they were sold on something called 'ImpulseDriven'  (and that's a long time ago).

Thinking that Stardock generally makes nice games I got the game on Steam.  

However , for me the game is totally ruined by the fact that it within little time becomes all about sabotage and / or preventing sabotage.   

I would really like to have a great space strategy *TRADING* game but 'OffWorld Trading Company is so much about sabotage that it should be considered cheating people to sell it with the name 'Trading' , it should be sold under the name OffWorld Sabotage Simulator.

 

To remedy the game Stardock ought to patch the game so that one could play the game as a trading game completely without any sabotage at all (Of course that would mean that Stardock should remake the game all together) , because the Sabotage Simulator is a crappy game - at least in my opinion - and all the above , of course is only my opinion - and I honestly do not care anyway at all about all those (must be fanboys) opinions saying how great the game is !

I bought this game hoping it was a legit trading game, but it is more of a corporate acquisitions game.  The sabotage part doesn't bother me, but their is no real trading in the game, just a generic buy/sell function. I'm not saying the game isn't fun, but it is not what I was expecting either. My biggest gripe is there is no native sandbox mode. Another gripe is that while the game is open to modding, the game is not really mod friendly. Each update to the game tends to break the mods.

How odd. I just turn off that part of the game. But then again I only play skirmish mode... and I only have the base game.

I never played Skirmish in this game , only the normal single player game (can not remember anymore what it's  called, campaign , whatever).

I wish that one could just turn off Sabotage in the whole game (not referring to Skirmish) but if one can then  I never found it and no one ever told me how to do it !

I haven't played the game since making the original post here but I doubt if Stardock has listened to reason and made one able to tun off Sabotage in whole game as a fix. 

And when I read something like "Offworld Trading Company, the economic real-time strategy game from Civilization IV designer Soren Johnson." then I still think that correct text should read : "Offworld Sabotage Company, the  real-time Sabotage simulator game from Civilization IV designer Soren Johnson."
