A Question About "Maintenance"

I noticed in some of my core worlds there is an item called "Maintenance" (see the first screen snapshot below).  My question is, what is the "currency" used to measure/pay this maintenance cost?  I looked under the "Income" icon (see the second screen snapshot below) and did not see anything about maintenance.
