Windowblinds / Windows Accent Color

I can't get Windowblinds to leave my Windows 10 Pro 21H1 background color alone. It keeps getting a color related to the skin and loads it. I have turned the settings on and off for this multiple times, updated Windows and Windowblinds and it still persists. Sometimes I can change it to black and it will stay, but when I re-login or boot machine it will switch the background solid color again. Sometimes I change it to black and then it sets itself within seconds of doing so to a accent color. It messes with my Wallpaper Engine screens because it messes the colors all up.

What is the problem, just started happening recently. Never had this problem before...

Getting kinda tired of it.

The desktop colour is part of a skin which is why it would be applied.  This is different to the accent colour.

Your best bet is to alter the colour in the skin itself which can be done from the WindowBlinds configuration screen.  Click on the modify skin link and then click the change system colours button.

Find system colour : Background and change it to whatever colour you want.

Then reapply and it will be that colour.

Well this is an odd answer. I have had OD for years and years and this has never been a problem. It has never altered my desktop background color. Within the last two-three weeks with all the WB updates it has suddenly appeared. The only answer I am getting is that I need to go into the 60+ desktop skins and change them individually to the color I want the desktop background to stay?

This has never been a problem before, why all of a sudden is it?

WindowBlinds has always set that colour so I am confused as you are.

System colours have always been part of a skin since WB1.

The only thing I can think of is WB has to reapply colours should the OS change any of them which can happen after say a sleep.  Should something be triggering that then the colours get reapplied.

Also be aware the desktop colour is extremely rare to see as typically a wallpaper would cover the entire desktop.  You would only see it with centred wallpaper or fit to screen modes where the wallpaper is a different shape to the screen.

I would also like to have an option for themes to leave my Windows background color alone -- even if the end-user has to modify the theme to accomplish that, e.g., by setting the background color for the theme to "null", "indie", "please just leave it alone", or whatever.

Alternatively, if it's easier coding-wise to stick with the current color-selection popup, please add a color-picker widget so that the end-user can select the background color they wish to use from the background color they have already chosen using the Windows "Personalize" popup.

Hoping the developers might consider one of these possibilities.

Meanwhile I suppose it's not a great hardship to keep changing the background color back to what I want using "Personalize" every time that needs to be done.

Thank you for your consideration.

Not quite possible to leave that setting alone since its required for each theme to work. Your best bet would be to open the skin you use in skin studio and modify that color value. Even native windows msstyles when I use to make those have the same exact thing in them. Its just part of windows.
