V 4.2 Tooltips in tech tree re weapons don't correspond to the ship builder

Hi,

I recently started a new game with the opt-in v4.2 (as the Iconians).

In the tech tree the tooltips now don't  mention any of the resourceless weapons (like Mass Drivers rather than Pulse Cannons) and also suggest that kinetic weapons now use durantium rather than thulium.

However after researching pulse cannons I found that Mass Drivers were still there and are resourceless and than pulse cannons use thulium  as previously.

I then used unlock in the cheat menu and see that the other resourceless weapons such as vulcanic drivers and triton torpedoes are still available (and that the kinetic weapons are still all thulium based). 

So my question is whether there is an intention to change the weapon types - which would  change the whole game considerably; or whether the tool tips have been redone and mistakenly amended?

I've just tried to verify the game files but at the moment  steam is being bloody so I don't know whether that's an issue.

Anybody else noticed this and any comments?

Just took a look on my end and Mass Driver is listed under Pulse Cannons.

Where does it say that kinetic weapons use thulium? The Prototype Durantium Driver uses it, and other special components.

Are you using any mods?

Hi Rhonin,

Many thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

No I'm mot using any mods. And after I updated steam and it started working again then all files validated. 

 I looked again and the design has just changed. Main weapons are in blue and auxiliary ones in orange. 

However, If you look at the second image then the tool tip says that pulse cannons use durantium. I imagine that an old file get used in the build by mistake because I have a vague memory that at one stage they did use durantium rather than thulium.

Anyway, if it's a purely cosmetic error than it's easily correctable.

Oh I'm just being stupid aren't I. The blue is to go into starbases I presume while the orange is on ships and indeed that gives what you had (1Thulium)
