Bought Intrigue Expansion but able to play always Retribution

Bought Galciv3 + Intrigue Expansion.

Installed Steam and requested to download the games.

Every time I try to play I get only the Retribution Expansion that I didn't bought.

Both are with "in my library" status in Steam.

Steam support not able to find the reason and sent me to Stardock Support.

Thanks,

Udi.

Oh hang on. Coffee time. So did you JUST buy GC3? If so the core edition includes some expansions by default.

Yeap, I bought it on April 24. I bought Galciv3 and also bought Intrigue Expansion.

The version you bought includes the GalCiv3 game and the Crusade expansion and the Retribution expansion.  It doesn't include the Intrigue expansion, which is why you were able to buy it seperately.  Since you have the Retribution expansion, you will get a splash/start screen that shows Retribution.  The contents of the Crusade and Intrigue expansions will also be included in the game.

Ok I’m not contradicting anything. If you don’t want to play retribution. In steam go to your libraries. Right click on Gc3 go to properties, Then dlcs. Uncheck retribution. Let it uninstall check in the bottom middle part of the screen.

fyi doing this means you do have to undo it later if you want to play with it again. done by the same steps except it should say install. and when it finishes if it worked it is going to let you uninstall. Please don't though, or you have to do this again. too much time on talesfromtechsupport on reddit

not everyone can quite get that until it has been said so a heads up?

Yea, the idea was that new players could buy GalCiv III and they'd get the "definitive" experience which we determined was the core game plus a specific set of expansions.

This way, new players don't have to feel like they have to spend a bunch of money just to get up to where most of the players are at.

Yea, you get a baseline to start from. Big help to modders too. And you don't scare anyone away like paradox does
