Same problem as others but no solution, game will not load

If I click on the icon / application it comes up and then instantly disappears. If I click on the icon and then switch to another window the game will load but as soon as I make it the active screen it disappears. Tried changing resolution, windows version(s) multiple times, multiple days, same result.
