Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. This is known issue and I believe it has been bugged internally and will be looked at for next version. For Ghost trail you can turn it on via Windows 10 : please refer to this post : https://forums.stardock.com/499587/get;3777183

For movement smoothness, please try disable shadow. Refer to screenshot below

Hi. Is there anything else to try to restore movement smoothness? Having a movement disorder, this particular feature helps me tremendously. It hasn't worked since I upgraded from 2.16. I tried disabling shadow shown in the screenshot but that didn't seem to have an effect.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your system.

  1. You on Windows 7,8, 10 or 11? And its full version numbers please.
  2. What version of CursorFX you on currently? Full version numbers please.
  3. Can you post a video grab of your cursors smoothness issue please.

Thanks

Right now I'm using CursorFX 4.03. I thought I'd see if the movement issue is fixed in the latest version It's not. The "movement smoothness" slider in settings has zero effect.

I'm using windows 10 Version 21H2 OS Build 19044.2728.

I don't have any utilities handy for capturing video of my screen. I mean, it's literally an issue of the setting having no impact on mouse movement.

I've verified that when I reinstall CursorFX version 2.16 it works exactly the way it always did and as expected.

Thanks for asking. The issue persists with all cursor themes I tried. I'd be glad to follow any other troubleshooting steps or questions you have.

You can use Microsoft Clipchamp to capture your screen. I believe, Its come with Windows 10 and Windows 11 by default. Or, you can download it via Microsoft Store for free.

Than post it somewhere, like youtube.

Thank you,

This may be stupid, but check DPI settings on your mouse?

On windows 10, I have found that if the mouse pointer size is set to anything higher than 1, it causes issues with all cursors. move the slider all the way to the left for a setting of 1.
