Soundpackager not working

Soundpackager not working

Hello!

I purchased Soundpackager, got really excited to change all my sounds, and...

...It doesn't work.

I go in, change the theme, apply it.

Restart to see if I hear the new windows logon sound, nothing.
New email notification sound, nothing.

Have tried reinstalling the app multiple times.

Help?

Quoting Snnkzr,

It is off and I don't use windows virus protection. I am using Kaspersky.

As a test, uninstall it, reboot and try again.

That didn't help :(

Do you have something installed that handles zip files other than the default OS compressed files handler?  In other words what happens when you double click on zip files?

Of course I have. Actually first thing to do for me after a fresh install of windows is disabling compressed folders. I have enabled it then reboot and still not working for me :( I think this might be the issue because I am using Curtains too and I can only install extracted themes. As a controlling measure, how can I extract the soundpack files? 7zip and winrar doesn't help on extracting those.

How did you disable compressed folders and is there a specific reason you did?

Have you also disabled compressed folders in windows?

From registry editor (which of course I had backup first and have the file at hand for these kind of future problems)

Reason: I hate windows' zip folder handling and honestly I accustomed to use zip handlers since windows '95 :)

But now I had it back on and zip folders are working again just to test whats going on about this issue but still not be able to install any soundpackage :(

Well, that explains a lot...

If this is Windows 10 pro, and you enable the Sandbox option:

Install and test SP, does it work under it?

That is not expected to fix your issue, rather, demonstrate that it works without editing the core functionality of Windows itself.
