Game Crashes on Launch

I recently wanted to try GalCiv3 again after a long time (a year or so) and it kept crashing when I launched the game. I went through the guide on this forum and have tried nearly everything. Checking my drivers, verify the files, running as admin, reinstalling the game but it keeps happening when the game is loading to get to the main menu. Between the last time I played it there was the 4.1 update and in december of last year nvidea had some driver updates that broke a couple of other games for me too (Offworld Trading Company was one of them). I got Offworld working again by forcing it to use a previous version of directX. I also noticed when reinstalling GalCiv3 that it made another directory named GalCiv3, the old one was named GC3Crusade. Before reinstalling the game couldn't find the path to the old ini file. Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

From the log you are on 4.01 if you switch to 4.1 beta does it still crash?

Thanks for the quick response. The game still crashes on the initial loading screen. It's strange because I never had any problems before. Also I didn't know the latest version was still in beta? Here's the new debug file:

Nope, I did the purge and reinstall and it still crashes when loading on both the 4.01 and the 4.10 version.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

With game sync still off, rename:

\Documents\My Games\GalCiv3

to 

\Documents\My Games\GalCiv3.OLD

Try to run the game again.

If that fails, uncheck all DLC and try to run the game:

If it runs, add one back at a time to see if one produces a fail.
