Dock Question (seriously)

I don't think so. They all rely on Alpha-blending both in animation and in the icons, so ME and down is out of luck.

I guess I could run XP but it would be slow and take alot of HD space that I do not have...

Try using DesktopX. That program works on 98/ME. I know because I used it on ME a long time ago. I am sure there is a Mac Dock themes for DesktopX.

you can use LiteStep and DesktopX together, if you manage to stop trayserver.exe from taking over. (just rename it and clean the registry).

in 98 with LS you could build a dock with alpha-transparency using rainmation.dll. but as you are the same guy who said he could run XP on his Mac and OS X on a PC, i do not think you will be able to do so.

my suggestion: get Verona Desktop Enhancer (the program that later became DesktopX) from here: http://www.voodoofiles.com/300 and get a dock theme from here: http://pcdesktops.emuunlim.com/vde01-05.shtml

Maybe this is off topic, but I've always wondered what TrayServer does. It loads at startup and I have no reason to kill it, but what's it do?

It gives system tray support to various proggies....as far as Stardock is concerned it's used with either Object Bar and DesktopX

My point was, if you don't have enough processing power and RAM, to run XP, 98 isn't going to handle a program like OD well at all.................. just doing a mouse over on my 1.5GHZ will peg out the processor for a second. You would probably get that message I was so fond of in 98, about "so&so has preformed an illegal operation, and blah, blah, blah"...............
