Game freezes during loading

Hi,

May I ask you for support, please?

I have downloaded the game via Epic Game launcher and when I setup a game (galaxy size, enemies, etc.) it starts to load.

However it freezes always at the same screen "Setting up players..."

May i ask for support hw to deal with that issue?

I went through the FAQ, but nothing helped ...

I can see some 'Fails" in debug.err - but I cannot translate it into what is the root cause

Sorry to hear you are having experience freezes. First, thank you for posting the log and going through the FAQ first.

I am going to forward this to someone who can make better use of the error log to figure out what is happening here.

Thank you for sharing the error log.  I saw the exact same message in my debug.err file and also have an Intel integrated GPU. 

Eventually I did get it to work!

I suspected it was an issue with DirectX and/or drivers, but Windows updates and device manager did not seem to find any available updates. 

The solution that worked for me was to go directly to Intel's website (look up "Intel driver support assistant"), and try out their tools to detect and update my drivers.

In my case, the game loaded fine and finally got past the "setting up players" screen after this update and restarting.

Thank you for the guide CptPistachio, unfortunately its not working for me

I have been updating all my drivers prior asking here already ... but I have checked your guide and get a msg "Your Intel® drivers and software are up to date." - also all other drivers are up to date

It seems that issue on my side will be elsewhere ... but thank you for trying ;)

   Have you had any luck getting past the setting up players.  I've got the same problem and have tried everything in the book.  The only method I found to get the game working was back date the load,  but did not let me use most of the DLC's

I know this is a year old but I'm having the same issue similar setup. Were you ever able to get the game running?
