WindowFX Messes Up Start Menu Animations

Anim opens behind start menu.

Hey devs. I have to disable WindowFX whenever running a WB with a Start Menu animation.  The animation opens behind the start menu.  Sucks

Any fix?

Hello Jim,

I have tested on my C Series, but I can't reproduce your issue. It might be because its only have small animation on it. Any free skin that you saw issue that I can try out?

Thank you,

All skins with start menu animations.  I mean skinner made animations, not WinFX animations.

Hmmmm, I see C-Series does work!  It may be something to do with layers?

Looking into a free skin that I have issues with.

My guess is that on my c-series I am using nwa files while Don using stack tga file.

Nope, don't work, I change the tga to nwa still don't work. I also notice that my C Series ignore WindowFX startmenu animation altogether. Not really sure how it do it.

Make sure none of the parts of the start menu use blur. If so, WinFX will ignore it.

Yup, that is why WinFX ignores your start menu.

My guess is WindowFX won't able to animate "The animation" on Start10 Panel properly. Its either or situation. If you want Start10 animation need to disable WindowFX StartPanel animation. If you want WindowFX animation use Windowblinds with no animation on StartPanel. This is my take on it. The Dev might have a different view.

So, I have forward your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

Thanks Jaz.  The answer I fully expected.

This is exactly why I may be leaving WC for good.  Zero interest by support to even acknowledge an issue.

I hate fucking crickets!!!!!

The issue has been investigated and the issue is in the WB side.

In the short term you could enable blur on the start menu in those skins or just tell WindowFX to not use open animations for start menus.

My issue is the skinner created start menu animation, for clarity. It opens behind the start panel.  So your workaround is to enable blur, hence trading WinFX animations for the skinner's animation?
