Shadows of windows are not working

Good evening,

I have tried adding shadows to my windows. It's a very cool feature that I have seen in all your videos. They just don't seem to be working. Absolutely no effect all all. Firstly I tried using this feature in Curtains. I thought this might be colliding with some other app. I have tried uninstalling all other apps that are used to customize the window themes. I tried again but it still didn't work. I then tried using shadowFx. This was a completely useless app as well. No effect at all.

I m using windows 10. Other than the shadow feature everything else is just perfect. Please fix the shadows please.

One more thing. The forced transparency of windows in curtains does not seem to be working after installing windowsfx. That is still OK. It's a feature request to allow this transparency effect in all apps as well.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Not really sure on your issue, need more information.

  1. Windows version, please use Winver.exe for full version numbers.
  2. Curtains version installed.
  3. Need to know which method you use to add shadows to your Windows? If you use Curtains and add it using Curtains Theme edit, please list out the steps you use to add the shadows.

Thanks

Is it possible you disabled shadows in the OS?

That would explain why both Curtains and ShadowFX do nothing for the shadows.

You can control that from the older control panel in Windows.  Press Winkey + r and then type sysdm.cpl ,3 in the box and press enter.  Then click on the settings button in the performance group and find Show shadows under windows and make sure it is ticked.
