High CPU usage when using some Windowblinds themes.

When using some Windowsblinds themes like Windows 98 Classic, this happens to my CPU, whats going on? This only happens when I use some styles.

Its quite odd, I can still play games like Minecraft with Motion Blur and other stuff like shaders, but CPU usage on task manager looks like 100%.

Are you perhaps running something else that might use lots of cpu and gpu in explorer?  I ask as your taskmanager shot shows high gpu usage too.

Its just that it seems to rocket up to 100% when I turn on some themes.

Please post the name of those themes that you see having 100% CPU issue on your system.

Not happening on my system. Are you running other programs/apps to customize your PC or do you have UXTheme Patcher installed?

I do have UXThemePatcher but I don't use it. I will uninstall it and turn the windowsblinds theme on and off to see if it gets better.

If UXTheme Patcher is what's causing your problems, uninstalling is not always fixing the problem. That might be the case when, like with UXTheme Patcher, system files are altered, removed or modified.

One other easy thing you could try, is to open a command prompt as administrator and type
sfc /scannow and hit enter. This will take a few minutes to finish and a restart is required.

It found corrupt files, fixed them and I rebooted but sadly the cpu usage problems remain.

Are your sure no other programs running in task manager

with high CPU at the same time .

Scrolling from top to bottom ?

Well, I don't have the issue, but I never use UXTheme Patcher, so I am not sure what is happening on your system. I have read somewhere in this forum, that, once the patch was done, the best thing to get back is a Windows fresh install.

Not sure if I am on track but maybe registry entries. When you uninstall some programs it does not remove everything. residuals in registry can make big difference in performance. just a suggestion.

UX Theme Patcher does not intervening Windowblinds' engine painting. Something must has spiked your CPU than Windowblinds.

Also I believe a restore point prior to that install would get them out of the woods too. Would say there will not be a restore point since people tend to have installed long durations of time. In saying that, I would agree with basj. There really is no other solution at that point.

I do not belive  UXThemePatcher caused it anyways.
