Play as Slyne (Silicon based life form ...)
City need durantium (this is o.k. - foreseen it is no durantium source on planet that is weird for an civ that have evolved here ...)
Colonizing Center need to build Food ....................... ??
I started a game as the Slyne and verified that food is required to build the Colonizing Center. However, a city requires Promethion. When I played as the Onyx Hive, the other silicon-based race, the results were the same.
I have all the expansions and DLC.
mhh - can be that you are right with the city ..... maybe i have wrong remember this (durantium <> promethium) 
That is probably why it is as replace with promethium.
Colinization center needs food to build can still be done with silicon get the food resource, not in your home system. The reason I never reported this bug is I was afraid they would remove it instead of balancing it. This was caused from two bugs. The first is they report food for silicon. The colonization center is the only thing they can use it for. If silicon can’t trade with food they shouldn’t have it. They thought they fixed this bug when they made it where you will not get food from your home system. The second bug is that silicon get buildings that require food. Please replace the colonization center with something else that doesn’t require food. Don’t just get rid of it. Please don’t give us something that is weaker than this. Also the second bug is annoying let us trade with food, or get rid of it for silicon.
