Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Look like you did not set the inactive windows states shadows as below.

Hello,

From your screenshot. The first one show us there is a shadow on for the active, but not on inactive Windows. But on the second and third screenshot. Seem like you have lost both of it? Is this the case? What happen if you apply style which already have shadow on it. For example, "Fluent Sky" does both states show shadows on it?

Thank you,

I think I need to clarify the first post screenshot is from your website.

I tried Fluent Sky, still can't see shadow effect.

Okay, that clarify things. First, please try purge and reinstall as mentioned here : https://forums.stardock.com/500728/curtains-support-faq#CurtainsPurge . Just make sure to re-download the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purge, re-install using the version you just download. Reboot again. Retest and report back.

I did the purge 2 times and reinstall the latest v1.1 from Steam before I post this issue.

Issue still exist.

Okay, next steps, please do the Cleanboot steps as mention here : https://forums.stardock.com/500728/curtains-support-faq#CurtainsServiceStart . This will help iron out if there is any conflicting application with Curtains. Try that and report back.

Can you try this:

Edit a style shadow from the style's duplicate copy?

Thank you for the quick reply.

Thank you for the quick reply.

Unless I misunderstood your question. Yes, I can edit it. No problem. I can create or edit new shadow. And, I do believe others can too. If not, we will have more reports from others, specially those who design new style for Curtains.

Still need to know if you have tried the cleanboot steps I mentioned above.

I did the cleanboot steps but the issue still exist.

I noticed that if I choose edit original style then the shadow works fine, choose edit duplicate copy all shadow disappeared and can't set shadow anymore.

Additional: I found that opening the PDF file with Adobe Acrobat DC causes the shadow effect to disappear.

Sometimes after edit a style duplicate copy's shadow it appears strange frame: (Just edit shadow)

Hello,

Edit with different name and shadows no issue, please refer below. Just for test, please try edit copy but use Roman alphabet as it name and see if the issue still there for you.

Yes.

Use only Roman alphabet for the name without any issue.

Need to note the words (已修改) are automatically filled in by Curtains Traditional Chinese language file.

Please check the shadow effect disappear causes by Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.

Thank you.

Would you check this setting: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-reader/how-do-i-get-adobe-acrobat-reader-dc-to-open-pdf-files-in-their-own-separate-windows/td-p/7683107?page=1

I'm using this separate windows setting to browse PDF files. This may the reason cause shadow effect disappeared.

I checked if not use this setting, shadows works fine.

Thank you for your quick response.

I un-ticked or ticked that selection, but shadows still appear on my system. Not really sure why its not appearing on your system.

After update to latest version of Adobe Acrobat DC 20.012.20048, problem resolved.

The old version I used Adobe Acrobat DC v20.006.20034 may conflict with Curtains in that situation.

Great, glad you resolved it.

With regards to the issue not seeing shadows when creating modified skins when using a language which uses unicode characters, this should be resolved internally and will be fixed in the next update.
